"Tex" Watson insists that he has already told the truth... and furthermore, that he has already revealed everything he knows (within the pages of his book). He says, the recently-released "TEX TAPES" will prove it!

Tex also states that many websites refuse to accept the truth... are still living in the 60's... forming conspiracy theories... creating falsehoods... and raising-up fanatical groups.

Sounds like Tex is referring to the blog world... no?

=====================================================================

Excerpted from Tex's Abounding Love Website (Dated July 2013):

"Others are angry at me because to them, I must know more about the murderers in the 60’s. Instead of resting in the truth and living in the present, they choose to live in the 60’s. So much so, they form conceptual views and beliefs, then become fanatical, raising up groups, forming conspiracy theories and creating falsehoods through websites, Facebook pages and tweets.

Life is too precious to waste on views that are not sound. When you read my book Will You Die For Me?, you’ll see how irresponsible I was with my views of life. If you read the book carefully, you’ll see that I’ve shared absolute truth and all the facts I know [as confirmed by THE TAPES released from the bankruptcy court]. In the 60’s, I made one bad choice after another. My friends tried to tell me that I needed help, but I was too prideful to listen."

Bruce Davis' pending parole and those "Tex Tapes"

This morning while drinking my coffee, I was thinking about Bruce Davis' parole situation and those "Tex Tapes".  Those of course, are our two current (pending if you will) TLB situations.  If anyone has any updates on either situation, please share in the comments section.

RE Davis:

Revisions/Updates - 1/6/2013 - 9:10pm...

Brian re-broadcasted the Michael Beckman interview this evening.
(Beckman is Bruce's lawyer)

I listened closely.  Here are some important revisions to my original post:

#1) The entire review process actually spans 150 days (not 160).

#2) During the first 120 days, the parole board conducts a mandatory "in-house" self-review.

#3) The final 30 days is the Governor's review period.
(Yes... the governor only gets the last 30 days)

**Being that the original parole hearing was October 4th, 2012... the review will be hitting the Governor's desk (on or about) February 1st.

I apologize for the previous inaccuracies.

Personally... I think Davis has a pretty damn good shot.
For starters, this is Bruce's second consecutive approval by the board.  Secondly... Governor Brown has a track record which heavily favors Davis.  Percentage-wise... Brown approves many more parole candidates, than Schwarzenegger did (while in office).  The economy is also on Davis' side.  And lastly, Brown is pretty damn old.  He's probably ready for retirement.  He has no worries in regard to any backlash, which could hamper his political career.  His career is essentially over.

RE the "Tex Tapes":
The story of the "Tex Tapes" had a brief resurgence in the California media, ironically in the week(s) preceeding Davis' hearing.  Since that time, the story has pretty much fizzled-out.  It's my belief, that Debra Tate was fanning those flames (during Davis' parole week).
I haven't heard anything since.

If anyone has any tasty updates on either pending situation... please share below.  Thanks!

The "Tex Tapes" Revisited.
Lynyrd's Gut Feelings....

On October 7th, I listened to the Starcity Radio Program.  Attorney Michael Beckman was interviewed.  Beckman of course, was Bruce Davis' attorney for Davis' recent parole hearing.

Beckman stated (paraphrasing), that Davis' best strategy at this point, is to keep things quiet.  According to Beckman, he advised Davis to refrain from speaking (to anyone) about his recent approval... media, fellow inmates, anyone... and essentially "keep things under wraps".  Good advice!

Conversely, Beckman stated (paraphrasing) that Debra Tate's next strategic move (now that Davis has been approved) is to make as much noise via the media, as possible.
He said that Debra had already begun that effort... effectively bombarding media outlets as much as possible.  Obviously, Debra knows that raising "Manson" consciousness will thwart Davis' chances.

Since the new resurgence in media attention to these "Tex Tapes" began... Beckman's words have echoed in my ears.

My gut feeling, is that this recent resurgence of media attention to the "Tex Tapes", is directly related to Debra Tate.  I have a strong "gut feeling" that Debra Tate is using these tapes as a tool, to get the "Manson" name (and all that conjures) back into the public psyche.  At this critical time for Davis... that's actually a formidable strategy.

The recent media attention to these tapes... and the potential for 12 new Manson victims in the public eye, can only hurt Davis' parole bid.

Bear in mind... Debra Tate is obviously well-aware, that Davis' release, would likely put Leslie and Bobby closer to the door.  In her mind, this is for all the apples.

I say all this, because when you really look at it... there's no new information being released, in regards to these tapes.  We already knew about the tapes.  We already knew the LAPD was interested in them. We already knew the LAPD suspected more murder confessions could be contained therein.  We already knew about the ongoing litigation over possession of these tapes.  There's nothing new here.  It's the same story unresolved...  yet revisited.  Is anyone else (like me) wondering why this story is being revisited, without further information???

If the LAPD had been granted full custody of these tapes... THAT would be an update worth publicizing.  If the LAPD was permanently denied custody... THAT would also be an update worth publicizing.  And certainly... if new confessions were (in fact) found on those tapes... THAT would be a groundbreaking update.

But think about it... there's nothing new here... and yet, the story is being re-run in the media, without an update.  Ironically... coinciding with all this, is Debra Tate's face all over the news... and Beckman's words ringing in my ears.  It all seems kinda strange to me, and I personally believe, that Debra Tate is the catalyst.  I have no proof... just a "gut feeling"... but my gut rarely lets me down.

Don't get me wrong.  The potential for new information on those tapes is certainly an exciting prospect.  I'm not arguing with that concept. I'm looking forward to more TLB information myself.  But, something seems strange here.  Why would the media run an update to an old story, without any updated facts??
What do you think????  Am I missing something here?? LOL!

The Tex Watson Tapes
As one might expect, I've been bombarded with links, videos, articles, news reports, etc, on the recent developments.
Mary, Kimchi, MattP and Poirot (just to name a few) have donated various sources.
Everyone's contributions (and interest) are most appreciated.  You guys/gals ROCK!

I've held-off on this topic... awaiting a definitive outcome.
When and if, anything is found on those tapes... it will be posted here immediately.

My thoughts on the matter are mixed:
On the one hand... my gut tells me this is going to be a disappointing dead-end.
Tex has proven himself, to be very adept at self-preservation.
Until now... he's completely avoided saying anything of substance, which would interfere with his own interests.
If Tex does "sing" on those tapes... it would be a complete departure from what we've come to expect from him... which is zero.

Although... one must consider, that I'm a bit jaded.
I'm not a completely unbiased barometer of optimism at this point... as every "lead" we've ever gotten as TLB enthusiasts, has ultimately (in the end) turned to shit... including the infamous "digs".

I excitedly followed the "dig" story (daily) for months.
I was fully swept-up by the whirlwind... I absorbed every tidbit.
In the end... I watched "scientists" dig waist-deep holes!
Seriously folks... if you saw the photos of those holes... you'd laugh.
It was a horrible experience, which I haven't fully recovered from. LOL.
Maybe "someday"... they'll go back, and do the job right.

Of course all the "Manson supporters" gloated for weeks because no bodies were found.
I tried to explain to them (in vain)... that the holes were simply not deep enough, to prove conclusive of anything.
That of course, was a complete waste of time.

It's was painfully obvious (to me), that the "dig" project had been abandoned prematurely, for reasons not disclosed to the general public.
They obviously didn't venture into the desert.. fully equipped with experts, dogs and specialized equipment... with the intention of digging shallow holes.
That would make no sense.

Anyway... I digress...

The point is:
One can't help but grow cynical, after years and years of dead-end leads... and, I have.
Nuff said...

On the other hand:
The fact that the LAPD has interest in these tapes speaks volumes.
Their interest strongly suggests, that there's something of substance on those tapes.
The LAPD has to believe there's something of value on those tapes... or, they wouldn't bother pursuing this ordeal.
That's pretty straight forward logic.

Let's also consider, that there's 8 hours of audio on those tapes.
Eight hours, is a LOT of conversation folks.

Moreover,consider this:
Tex was conversing with his lawyer on those tapes.
To me, that increases the likelihood, that there's something on those tapes.
Look at it this way:
IF Tex had "let his guard down"... with anyone (in wake of the murders)... it would most likely have been, with his attorney.
(He hadn't found the clergy yet, LOL).

Some sources indicate that Tex was not (initially) concerned with the release of those tapes.
This may suggest, that there's nothing on the tapes... OR... maybe that Tex has resigned himself to the fact, that he's never going to be released anyway... and hence, doesn't care much at this point.
Who knows?

Bottom line: We just have to wait.

I've heard from a very reliable source, that the LAPD still considers this case very much "open" after all these years.  Their pursuit of these tapes after 40+ years, is strong indication of that fact.  The general public may well have forgotten this case... but, it seems the authorities have not.

One thing's for sure:
Anything found on those tapes... could really breathe new life into this dormant case.
Could we see these folks "taking the witness stand" once again, for examination?
I'm not a lawyer... but, wouldn't THAT be a hoot!

I've heard it said many times on the blogs, that "there's no statute of limitations on murder".
I have no idea if that's actually true from a legal standpoint... but, here's hoping.

Any trial held now, would obviously "play out" much differently than the original (trial).  Manson's "hold" over (most of) these folks is long gone.
These folks would probably sing like a bird... and every fact we ever wanted to know, would come oozing out... or more likely... raging out, like a waterfall! LOL

You see folks...
THIS is why, I didn't want to touch this topic... until something concrete surfaces.
My mind reels... and I'll end-up looking like an ass, when they come back with nothing! LOL

Oh well... I'll let myself dream... if only for a day.
I owe it to myself. : )
Peace!
