The "home-coming princess" wants to get out again!

Well she's been "in stir" for around 50 years now. Would she even know how to live on the "outside"? Or would she be like Morgan Freeman "Red" on Shawshank Redemption? Not being able to survive without asking someone to take a piss?

Let's all forget that she laughed at killing people, saying "the more you stab the more fun it is".

We'll see if Princess Leslie gets out. She's still got the same Gov-nuh who didn't get recalled. Maybe he'll have a relapse!

And if she does get out, who she'll live with. Let me guess!!!

Time for cheese and chocolate milk!!!

There are many “woke” people on various blogs that are calling for her to be released, that she has served here time, that she is no longer a threat. These people are certainly entitled to their opinion regardless how wrong they may be. The reality is, she was complicit in the death of two people. Yes, she was sentenced to Life With, but that is not a guarantee. California has changed its image, and goals several times, including the recent Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation. But the thing is, how do you rehabilitate a murderer? Did LVH not understand murder was wrong? She knew it was wrong then, she knows it was wrong now.

She has done well in a controlled environment. I am glad that she has educated herself in many things all on the account of the California taxpayers. But, because life is priceless, she has not yet payed the full price for her actions. If she were truly remorseful of her actions, she would not seek release.

The bad thing for us Californians is that our governor, having survived a recall, is feeling bulletproof, that he can do what he wants without political risk, in clouding releasing a Manson murderer.

Newsom hasn't let her out yet. Leslie isn't a danger anymore. What your whole soap box was about is punishment. You could have saved the fanfare, and just said that.

Dilligaf said...

A danger? No. A murderer deserving to die in prison? Absolutely.

Don’t like a soap box? Don’t read it….

katie8753 said...

Donna, it IS about PUNISHMENT!!! A LIFE TAKEN FOR A LIFE TAKEN!

Where is she gonna live? How is she gonna pay her bills? How is she gonna survive? What is your plan for her because she "deserves to get out"?

Or do parolees in CA just live off the government? What is the stipend? Who is paying for that crap?? People in CA who actually have a JOB??? She's in her 70's. She might not even remember how to turn on the oven. Or turn it off.

I'm surprised that you aren't more upset about that!

Katie, if Van Houten were released she would be living with family and they would support her financially.

beauders said...

That is after Van Houten's time in a half way house. I don't think she's getting out. A judge is who is going to release Van Houten.

beauders said...

And Van Houten may not live long enough to find that judge.

Dilligaf said...

Okayyyyy……..

katie8753 said...

That's something to ponder!! LOL.

Thanks Beauders. There is a You Tube video of Leslie during the time she was out because of her mistrial and before she was re-tried. I looked for it and couldn't find it. She was taking some classes or something. She giggled a lot and made jokes. She didn't appear to be remorseful at all.

Now she always appears to be extremely remorseful. Why? Because she found out the hard way that you can't just go in someone's house and stab people you don't even know for no reason at all without giving up your freedom for life. It's not clear if she's remorseful for killing a stranger or not.

katie8753 said...

I didn't delete that comment because it's just weird but it doesn't say anything mean or threatening. But if it continues or changes, I probably will.

katie8753 said...

Beauders, what family would take her in? Her parents must be dead by now. Is she gonna live with those 2 Korean adopted siblings that she didn't like?

katie8753 said...

Beauders BTW, what do you think of today's development on B&B that Jack asked Sheila for lunch to "thank her" for not tattling on him. The last time he was on he was telling her to "get outta town".

And why do they always go to that same restaurant? There's gotta be other places to eat in LA!

katie8753 said...

Okay I deleted that comment, and I put the comment moderation on, for the time being, because of something that happened today.

I know the moderation is a pain! If you're a member of this blog and you want to comment, you won't have any trouble. If you're not a member, I will have to moderate your comment.

Just be patient! All normal comments will be posted. Thanks!

beauders said...

Van Houten would be cared for by yes the Korean adopted brother and sister, she also has an older brother, and many nieces and nephews. Speaking of B&B didn't Shelia work at that restaurant. That would be a good reason not to eat.

beauders said...

not to eat there.

katie8753 said...

Yeah Sheila was probably a bad cook/waitress/bus girl.

Donna said...

Plenty of people have be released from prison. Not a new thing. So why would I be "more" upset?

katie8753 said...

Well Donna, hopefully people who broke into people's houses that they didn't even know and knifed them to death for no reason WHATSOEVER haven't been released! I hope that's not a "new thing". If they were doing that where I live, I would be upset!

katie8753 said...

I think I'll take off the omment-cay oderation-may. LOL. That is, when I feel like it!

beauders said...

Go for it Katie

katie8753 said...

Done!

katie8753 said...

Beauders what is up with Quinn's outfit today? She looked like she had "handcuffs" on her wrists. Was this some kind of "bondage assemble?

beauders said...

I thought she looked like a black widow, but yes it looks like bondage gear as well. Remember Michelle Obama wore black and red on the night her husband was elected. I thought it was a subtle hit that she can sting.

I am trying to understand your statement, that is what you are saying.

I don’t live in CA but in a very liberal state in the northeast. I am however very right wing where fiscal, law and law enforcement is concerned. I would prefer that LVH remain in jail until she dies but would not be overly upset if she were released as long as she lives alone in stealth mode - LVH does not exist and the in her new identity she lives as if she has the plague or auto-immune disease.

I am very black and white and read constitutions and laws in a manner that would be classified as strict originalism. The documents do not live. If it says there is wiggle room, then there is otherwise there is not.

As I understand it, the death sentence ( converted to life) from the first TLB trial was thrown out. Like the dream season from the Dallas TV show, where Bobby was dead, we are supposed to forget about that conviction and the way she acted in the trial. Her second trial was a mis-trial and she was finally found guilty in trial number 3, a trial where the charges where changed. The sentence was not life but X years to life. So there is wiggle room defined and either she serves life or she could be released. Could doesn’t mean that she will but she could be.

So back to your statement. Are you saying that no matter what, she should never be released? If that’s the case then are you saying that the court ruled in error or that she has not fulfilled a required defined by the court, or something different?

Dilligaf said...

I am saying that she should remain incarcerated until she dies. Now, much like an onion, there are many layers to her plight. The reality is that upon her conviction, her sentence was Life With. What has changed over the years, are the conditions in which parole may be granted, the number of BPH members determining fitness, as well as the time allowed between parole hearings. All are factors in how the sentence (I.e. parole opportunities) have changed.

katie8753 said...

Tab, Bobby died on Dallas???

In order to evaluate Leslie for parole, you have to consider all of the factors. Which include the things she said, did and felt during the first trial. The way she followed Manson even after being arrested and during her trial. The cross she cut in her shaved head. The way she chanted his nonsense. Her saying "sorry is only a 5 letter word".

To say you can't consider all of the past is just silly. Because it's just as important as the present.

Her subsequent trial had nothing to do with Manson or her cohorts. That makes a lot of difference. But consider this. If the presence of her cohorts made such a big impression on her presentation, who else could control her mind in the future?

beauders said...

Katie, Bobby did die for a season when the actor quit, somehow the powers that be talked him into returning, and so they just the whole season Bobby was gone was a dream. Bobby emerged from the shower, in a towel and life resumed, as if nothing had happened that whole season. What was funny was that Gary Ewing on Knots Landing mourned his brother, and Bobby's return to life was never dealt with on Knots Landing. Knots Landing was my favorite night time soap.

katie8753 said...

Beauders that's right. I was thinking is was J. R. that died.

Knots Landing was MY favorite night time soap too! Dallas was kind of a fallback thing to watch if nothing else was on, but I made sure I saw Knots Landing every Thursday night!!

beauders said...

Katie, we have the same taste in soaps. I was going to watch a repeat of Knots Landing but something from the news kept me on a broadcast channel. It was about 8:00am and I was working on my book and I usually watched repeats of Knots Landing while doing so. Something really bad was happening in New York, it was 9/11. My best friend a waitress, lived in upstate New York, so I called her and got her machine. I told her to get up and turn on her tv, I knew she was a mail deliverer in those buildings when she was a young woman. I still get tears in my eyes when I think of 9/11, I am doing so just writing this.

beauders said...

I will always associate 9/11 and Knots Landing and Rumors The Fleetwood Mac album with Jonestown. I grew up in the Bay Area and I remember going from Rumors to the San Francisco radio during those days. We didn't have tv reception where I lived so radio news was it. The People's Temple was in the news everyday for a year before the massacre. It seemed like people really expected those people to die, as they threatened suicide a lot. It was a surprise that they all died but not that they attempted and succeeded in the massacre. I use massacre because a lot of those people died from murder not suicide. There were over 300 children and babies they did not commit suicide and the seniors another three hundred knew they had no place to go, they were 300 miles into a jungle. The real believers though did commit suicide.

katie8753 said...

The only thing I remember about Knots Landing is that Alec Baldwin was on there. That was the first time I ever saw him. I thought he was the most beautiful man I'd ever seen.

Now he's just been denigrated to a worthless piece of shit! By his own design. It makes me sad that most all of Holly-Weird has been denigrated by their own stupid actions. As a result, no one goes to movies anymore. Why should they? They don't make movies worth watching anymore.

I watched several documentaries about Jonestown. It's sad that so many people followed this nut-job Jim Jones all the way to Guyana. What's really sad is that the children had no choice in it, the parents took them there to their deaths. Of course they can't levy charges against the parents because they're dead now. Jim Jones was too cowardly to drink the "koolaid" and he had someone shoot him in the head.

katie8753 said...

I also remember 9/11. I was working in an office by the airport. We found out that 2 planes flew into the Twin Towers. Then we noticed planes were landing one by one at the airport. We didn't have any idea what was going on.

That was a scary day!

Rioting in Portland, people are pissed with the Rittenhouse verdict.

katie8753 said...

They need to build Portland back out of asbestos. That'll fix 'em. LOL.

katie8753 said...

The Forresters had a Thanksgiving dinner today. They all sat in chairs and ate off plates on their laps. They don't have a table? Eric wasn't invited. Maybe he's in the mental horspistol for ED.

beauders said...

Katie you are too funny, I think it was a repeat.

beauders said...

It was listed as a repeat but it wasn't.

beauders said...

Katie, did Logan betray Ridge at some point with Deakin? If not he is so over the top about the man. Was the other Ridge like this guy again he's so over the top, I really dislike this character or is it the actor?

katie8753 said...

Beauders I hate that actor. His voice sounds like he was hit in the vocal chords by a ski or a baseball bat. It's a constant hoarse whisper in the loud department.

Logan betrayed everyone imaginable on this show. I think they're going to have Brooke and Deacon get together and leave Ridge high and dry. I'm sure the result will be worthless.

And Eric and Quinn have disappeared. For now...

katie8753 said...

Sorry guys/gals, I've been working this week. I'm hoping to have more time next week!

beauders said...

Stephie laid it out today on B&B, Brooke isn’t worth it. Actually I’d be happy if Ridge went back to Paris.

katie8753 said...

Looks like Ridge & Taylor and Deacon & Brooke are all getting back together again. Might be interesting! Where does that leave Sheila? Eric seems to have disappeared.

Bobby said...

Why would people be upset?

Fullbug said...

It looks like she's been approved several times before, so I don't think anything will be different this time. It's just too politically unpopular for Newsome to sign off on that since there will be massive publicity if she is released. Newsome has presidential aspirations that he won't want to jeopardize for such an unpopular inmate.

beauders said...

I agree Fullbug, it's going to have to be a judge who lets her out, and she needs to get the right judge, luck of the draw, before she dies.

Hi Katie, if you Google 'Leslie Van Houten net worth' you will see $12million.
What do you think about this figure?

If this is true or even close then LVH wouldnt need a job.
