Bruce Davis' Hearing has been postponed,
due to Bruce not feeling well...
"Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Patrick Sequeira says Davis showed up for Wednesday's hearing in San Luis Obispo but said he didn't feel well.

He was examined at a clinic in the California Men's Colony and sent back, but still complained of illness and parole commissioners said it was necessary to postpone".

A parole hearing for former Charles Manson follower Bruce Davis was postponed at the last minute Wednesday after the inmate reported he was feeling ill.  Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Patrick Sequeira said Davis showed up for the hearing in San Luis Obispo but said he didn't feel well.

He was taken to a prison medical clinic in the California Men's Colony and was examined and sent back, but still complained of illness and parole commissioners said it was necessary to postpone.

"I saw him walking around in the hallway and he looked fine," said Sequeira. But he said under the circumstances, the parole panel could not go forward with the hearing. A new date was not immediately set.

Davis' lawyer, Michael Beckman, said he arrived after Davis had been taken away in an ambulance and when he was returned, "He looked deathly pale."

Beckman said he feared Davis might collapse during the hearing and "I wasn't going to take a chance."

Two women who had come to speak out against Davis' parole were upset at the turn of events.

Former Manson Family member Barbara Hoyt, who has become a crusader against the imprisoned cult members, said she traveled 1,000 miles from the Pacific Northwest and missed her dialysis treatments in order to speak on behalf of the family of stuntman Donald "Shorty" Shea who was murdered by the Manson cult 40 years ago.

Debra Tate, the sister of murdered actress Sharon Tate, traveled from Los Angeles to appear on behalf of a cousin of murdered musician Gary Hinman. She said she believes Davis is a dangerous person.
"I will be here for the next one," she said in a phone interview. "I'm not going away."

Davis is serving life sentences for the two 1969 slayings, although he was not involved in the infamous murders by Manson followers of actress Sharon Tate and six others in Los Angeles.

A parole board determined in 2010 that he was ready for release but then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger reversed the decision citing the heinous nature of the crimes.  Wednesday would have been his 27th parole hearing.

Sequeira said this was to be the first time that representatives of the victims were present. No victim families have come to previous hearings.

Beckman said he had planned to object to allowing Hoyt and Tate to speak against Davis since they had no connection to his case.

Sequeira cited Marcy's Law which allows victim relatives to speak.

"They're not next of kin," Beckman said. "That's not what Marcy's Law is about, to bring in hired victims' rights advocates."

Nevertheless, he said Davis was not put off by their presence.

"I told him they were here and he wanted to go ahead. But I couldn't take the chance. "

Beckman has portrayed Davis as a model prisoner who earned a master's degree in religion and a doctorate in philosophy of religion, became a born-again Christian in prison and ministered to other inmates. He also married a woman he met through the prison ministry and has a grown daughter. They were divorced recently.

But the Los Angeles prosecutor who has argued repeatedly to keep all Manson Family members behind bars has said that Davis, who has been in prison for 40 years, still isn't ready for release.
"We feel he is not fully rehabilitated," Deputy District Attorney Patrick Sequeira said.
"He has not shown true remorse or understanding of his crime."

Davis long maintained that he was just a bystander in the killings of Shea and Hinman. But at his last parole hearing in 2010, he acknowledged: "I was as responsible as everyone there."

Should a new parole panel grant Davis a release date, the decision would be just the first step in a process that also requires approval by Gov. Jerry Brown and other parole board members.

The only other Manson family member convicted of murder to be paroled was Steve Grogan. He was released in 1985 after leading authorities to the site where Shea's body was buried.

Manson follower Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme was released from federal prison in 2009 after serving time for the attempted assassination of President Gerald Ford.

Manson and two of his followers, Leslie Van Houten and Patricia Krenwinkel, remain in prison for life in the Tate killings. Their co-defendant, Susan Atkins, died in prison last year. Another Manson follower, Robert Beausoleil also is imprisoned for the Hinman killing.

It doesn't appear Ol' Bruce is too worried about the content of those "Tex tapes".

You'd think Bruce would want to get this hearing procedure over with, before the LAPD listen to that audio, on the off-chance, that Tex tells a bunch of bullshit stories on those tapes.
Hey... you never know. It could happen.
If you're Bruce... why leave anything to chance, and complicate things?
Well... it's a thought... and it's what came to my mind, when I heard about the postponement.

Anyone have the new hearing date yet?

I'll tell ya...
If I sat in jail for 40+ years, the last thing I would do, is voluntarily postpone my own hearing... regardless of how good, or bad, my chances of parole were... LOLOL
Like pulling-off a band-aid, just get it over with!

Hey, check this out:

>>>Debra Tate, the sister of Sharon Tate, attended Wednesday's parole board hearing for Davis, but she told CNN that the hearing never started.

The hearing was slated to start at 10:30 a.m. PT (1:30 p.m. ET), but Davis' defense attorney alerted the parole panel at 2:15 p.m. PT that Davis was ill, and the lawyer sought a postponement.

"Davis allegedly fainted for no apparent reason," Tate told CNN. "Honestly, in my opinion, this was a ploy to help (Davis') defense attorney since he didn't want to deal with witnesses."

Tate said that if Davis and his defense team are planning to schedule a new hearing to avoid victim statements, "that will happen over my cold, dead body," Tate said.>>>

Go Debra!

So from 10:30 am until 2:15 pm everybody was just standing around wondering about Bruce?

Maybe Bruce's ex-wife showed up to give a statement against his release.

You know it must be hard marrying a bloodthirsty, butchering, born-again, convicted & imprisoned "preacher man".

She might have been afraid that if he was released, he might try to "sponge off" her. LOL.

Dill I have a feeling it wasn't the sniffles.

It was probably more in the genus of "Fearus Failuritis".

Said condition is usually brought on by a patient wanting and hoping for a "sacred intervention", but yet sensing the impossibility of the occurrence, causing severe trauma to the ileum. Patient then must retreat to the "toiletus sanctum" for general relief.

Without intervention, the condition could last as long as the patient wants.

HA HA.

leslie has great fear of Debra too. The identical situation occurred at one of Leslie's hearings so she bolted.

I don't think Bruce realized back in 69 that Barbara Hoyt would spend decades making sure Shorty was never forgotten. Hoyt must have been a friend of Shorty's.

The killers were obviously all sociopaths. Despite all their chatter about love of brother it never occurred to any of them that their victims were loved. Frankly i think the Family's idea of love of brother had nothing to do with love at all. I believe it was a paranoid "us vs them" mental disorder. Is there such a term as group insamity? Were Koresh's followers and Jim Jones' followers all insane as a single mass individual.

Maybe Bruce is hoping that Tex on the tapes says something like, "Bruce really didn't do anything. In fact, he tried to talk me out of ripping off Lotsapoppa, tried valiantly to save Gary Hinman and Shorty Shea, probably would have stopped Charlie from Tate-LaBianca if he wasn't so busy trying to solve the Zodiac case. That's why he went to Cielo Drive after we got back, you know, do some CPR, perhaps a caesarian section or some other surgery, but it was all for naught. Bruce is one seriously misunderstood dude."

And Patti Smith freaking rocks! Did you see her and Bruce and U2 perform at the Hall of Fame concert last year? Also Bruce has a great version of this song with Michael Stipe too.

"Fearus Failuritis?" LOL Good one, Katie.

It's amazing how Sadie attended her hearing on a gurney, but Bruce fainted and couldn't attend his?

katie8753 said...

Hi guys! Mr. P., you are so right. There wasn't any "love of brother"...it was just "us against them".

This is the "Charlie-speak" they learned.

Bruce came out of hiding because Charlie told him to. Charlie told him that the family needed to "stick together". But Charlie just wanted to pin blame on him and throw him away like last month's bath water.

It's ironic how they all acted to protect their "savior", but all ended up spending the rest of their lives in prison due to their association with him.

katie8753 said...

Starship, maybe Bruce was hoping that. HA HA.

I'm sure that Tex and Bruce were BFF's and Tex always spoke highly of Bruce. (Cough)

Bruce indicated in one parole hearing that he was afraid of Tex.

Bruce used to downplay his role in Shorty's death, and at the last parole hearing, he made a magnanimous statement that he was just as guilty as the others that were involved in ALL the killings.

Quite a change from the Bruce when he surrendered and said "the guilt's in you. Don't look to me for your answer. That's your guilt. That's the guilt of whoever says it."

Can't have it both ways Brucie. :)

i'm starting to think as others do that shes in love with the attention of it all

Hi Bob. According to this article, Debra was there representing a cousin of Gary Hinman and Babs was there for the Shea family.

Why she was at Leslie's hearing, I don't know, unless it was for Suzanne LaBerge.

A lot of people seem to question whether or not Debra Tate has a right to be at Bruce's hearing.

Well, first off, if she didn't have the right to be there, she couldn't. California law is very specific and they wouldn't just let someone attend a parole hearing if they weren't allowed.

Secondly, if a group of monsters was responsible for brutally killing my sister for no reason at all, you can damn betcha that I'd be at EVERY parole hearing that I could go to.

I'm sure that Debra has a lot better things to do with her time than drive for miles and stand around in a hallway waiting on some jake-leg to show up at HIS parole hearing.

If Debra just wanted attention, she could have written some trashy novel years ago and then bounce from Manson blog to Manson blog to tout her wares, but she hasn't done that.

Sometimes she gets confused and says erroneous things, but I think that after all these years she's a little muddy on certain facts.

Who isn't? It's called "gettin' on up there". LOL.

As far as nude pics with Pic Dawson, I'm with Starship. I've never seen them either. Evidently they're only privy to a chosen few. And like Starship, I feel that even if they did exist, so what? Pic Dawson didn't kill Sharon.

katie8753 said...

Leslie, Pat & Susan were laughing about the victims, laughing about how they died, making a mockery of a court of law. Yes, Leslie was also laughing at Sharon's death.

When Bruce surrendered, he was laughing and making a mockery of death.

The other family members were laughing and threatening people, crawling to the courthouse, acting like minions.

It wasn't just Tex, Susan or Pat who killed at Cielo Drive. It was ALL of them. Through their lascivious actions.

I, for one, don't blame Debra one bit for wanting to make sure they never get out. That they pay for the rest of their lives.

It's what Doris would have wanted.

HA HA. Prolly so. LOL.

So I lit out one night in June, stoned on the glow of the Texas moon, hummin' an old Buddy Holly tune called Peggy Sue.

With my favorite jeans and a cheap guitar, I ran off chasing a distant star, if Buddy Holly could make it that far, I figured I could too.

I thought happiness was Lubbock, Texas in my rear view mirror. But happiness is Lubbock, Texas, growing nearer and nearer.

And when I die...you can bury me...in Lubbock, Texas....in my JEANS!

Just wanted to say Happy Father's Day to all you Dads, Granddads, Step-Fathers, Foster Fathers, etc. etc. I hope you all had a nice day being honored for your involvement with your children.

Star City Radio had a great show tonight. Lots of discussion.

The Helter Skelter motive being not valid (as we've discussed many times before on this blog), and the fact that Bruce Davis lied about a "patient" who confessed to murder and later recanted that lie.

Let me tell you something...that's very significant in Bruce getting out. And I don't think it was so much Debra & Babs showing up, but that it was the "patient" who confessed to murder debacle that made him sick.

Anyway, check out Star City Radio. Good stuff! Good comments all around! Thanks Guys & Gals!!! :)

As far as the Hendrickson offer to pay $1000 for the Watson tapes, that is so egotistical.

This is the guy who is selling re-runs of his book for $100/pop and "policing" the internet for anyone who is bootlegging his crap. He's milking this for all he can get.

Dream on guy! HA HA.

Not much to do at the Lubbock Cemetery except wait until dark and hope to see ghosts. We used to do that in high school. LOL.
