I've retooled the prior thread (dated March 9th), concerning Debra Tate's "Second Official Statement".  I've removed Debra's Statement, and in it's place...  I've inserted my final commentary, regarding the entire Alisa Statman, Robin Olsen, Debra Tate topic(s).  It's down there, below the "Orkustra" thread.  I encourage my visitors to read it.  Thanks... Lynyrd

Leary asks at Liz‘s:

"once again I haven't a clue. who is it that we are looking at?"

Oh My Gawd... I almost started crying.
Every once in a while, a comment hits the blogs that just catches me the right way.
That was epic.

Leary, I must admit...
This morning... through sleepy eyes... I had to take a second look myself.
Throw 40 years, 100 pounds, eyeglasses, and a hat on these people... set them down in Istanbul (or, wherever Clem is hiding these days)... and it can be difficult to discern. LOL
Matt really has to start labeling these old farts, upfront.
I barely recognize myself in the mirror (before coffee) these days... LOL

On a serious note:
I concur with Matt... Clem is a lucky bastard, for sure.
Bobby and Bruce would be speechless if they saw that photo!

(In that picture) Clem doesn’t seem too concerned about where his photos are being shared.

Heck... if I were Clem… you could post my photos in the bowels of hell… and I’d still be smiling! LOL

Once you’re released after murdering someone,… it’s ALL gravy!
... or ouzo, evidently.

Hi AC! Good to see you. :)

You know, I was watching TCM Sunday and they showed Splendor in the Grass with Natalie Wood and Lover Come Back with Doris Day, and I was thinking, why didn't Sharon's agent put her in more American films & TV shows. Why start out with boorish movies made in Europe? Why not put her in the heart of things in the US at the time?

He cast her for Petticoat Junction, but decided she was "too pretty". COME ON. Pretty is subjective. Prettier than Billy Joe, Bobby Joe & Betty Joe??? They were all pretty.

She could have made a name for herself long before August 1969 and probably wouldn't have ended up with that rodent Polanski, which means she would still be alive today.

Tsk tsk.

Liz took me to task for being clueless, Lynyrd. But as I told her, I only come to these blogs for the girls anyways. If I have to study and know things I am a goner.

He cast her as Janet Trego in the Beverly Hillbillies, the hottest show at the time. He put a black wig on her. He gave her a minor part.

Why didn't he blossom her career before that??? He knew she was pretty. He knew she had as much acting semblance as anyone else on a TV sitcom, which didn't take much.

I mean, let's face it. Sharon wasn't an academy award winning actress.

But why not let her get her feet wet? Was he saving her as some kind of secret weapon?

When Meryl Streep debuted in 1979 in Kramer Vs Kramer, it was really the dawn of the age of a very serious modern actress.

But before that, it was just goofy crap that Sharon could have done well in and made a better name for herself.

Don't sweat it Leary...
You're one of my favorite bloggers.

For some reason, that just struck me as really funny.
Sometimes, that happens...

"Um... what is it we're looking for here, again?"

It just doesn't get old.
I don't think I'll ever forget that one.

Love ya brother!
You made my day! : )

where else, Lynyrd, can one find someone like the incomparable Katie waxing poetically about Petticoat Junction.
I gotta say, Lynyrd, you referred to me as a friend in one of your posts recently and not to sound like a wuss but I got a little verklump. It was one of the nicest things things that has crossed my horizon in awhile.
NOt to sound all Oprah but given shithole I was in with you and Katie not so long ago the fact that we have emerged with respect and genuine affection is something I am proud of. And very appreciative.

You're my friend Leary... no doubt.

I meant absolutely no disrespect with my comment... your words just struck me as funny.

You're a good egg.

It's all water under the bridge.

I also wish Saint would re-emerge.

He's another good egg.

Peace Brother... Lynyrd
