Great footage Matt... thanks.

Thanks Matt!

I couldn't get the video to work. It says I have to download something. Is anyone else having this trouble??

LynyrdSkynyrdBand said...

Really?

It should work fine.

The first 12 seconds are just a blank screen...

Maybe that's the problem?

LynyrdSkynyrdBand said...

Unless of course, you need flashplayer, or something?

For some reason, these video links, never work correctly for everybody...

LynyrdSkynyrdBand said...

It should work for you now Katie...

I uploaded it direct... I doubt Matt will care...

Matt, if you want me to post a plug to your site on the thread, let me know.

katie8753 said...

Okay thanks Lynyrd. Now I can see it.

Great site Matt. Thanks!

Wasn't it Clem who said they cut Shorty up in pieces and buried the pieces separately? Or have I had too much coffee this morning. LOL.

adam said...

One can never have too much coffee in the morning Katie.

Regretably, I do not have a Manson library. Does anyone have a list of the girls who helped with the burial. Even if they didn't participate, could they not, Diligaf, have been charged as accesories? I know there is no statute of limitation on murder, but is there one on 'accessory to murder'?
Shorty definately got shafter, no pun intended, in the Manson story. For most, he is an afterthought. He shouldn't be.

Leary,

A couple of thoughts on that. Typically, a statute of limitations will last for three years. In California however, if you are charged as an accessory after the fact in a murder, you could be charged regardless. However, it would not be unusual, depending on the facts of the case, to have a conspiracy charge filed.

There is no doubt in my mind that several former members have committed crime for which they have remained silent. Whether it is because of having to face a charge, denial, or shame/guilt, I believe many will carry their story to the grave.

katie8753 said...

Leary, Bill Nelson said in his letter to Susan that she mentioned help burying Shorty. I don't know if that's true or not.

katie8753 said...

Yes Tom he can. Thanks V717!!!

katie8753 said...

Mr. Dill & Tom, I agree totally.

If any of the family members didn't worry about repercussions I think they would have cashed in for an interview or a book. That is, assuming they knew some facts that were never exposed.

Like others have said, I'd love to hear what Squeaky or Sandy have to say, but then again....how much do they really know???

LynyrdSkynyrdBand said...

The Patriots are destroying the Broncos!

After all this build-up, I was expecting a game??

Oh well... I'll take winning by a landslide, without complaint. LOL

TomG said...

Tom Brady is the real quarterback. The other guy is America hype.

LynyrdSkynyrdBand said...

I have to say Tom, your hockey comment at Colonel's was a SCREAM!

I'm still laughing ten minutes later!!

To see a storied hockey team, like the Flyers lose to a team where ice abd snow don't even exist... and fans where cowboy hats... is just painful. LMAO
Mashville???? LOL

I'm sorry dude... but the Jamaican bobsled team, came to mind.
LOLOL

TomG said...

You live long enough, and you see everything..

And I don't mean that as a good thang.

But a good night for you. The Patriots look like they are going...all....the.....way!

LynyrdSkynyrdBand said...

Sorry... that's Nashville, not Mashville.

I really have to stop leaving my glasses, in my coat.

LynyrdSkynyrdBand said...

Sorry... that's "and", not "abd".

And then (believe me)... if you live old enough... you can't see anything at all! LOLOL

(which is sometimes, a blessing, as well)

I've always thought the best uniforms in hockey were hands-down:

1) Blackhawks
2) Flyers
3) Red Wings

I love my Bruins... but, I'm not so crazy about the uni's.

I hate the Canucks uniforms.
Course, I hate the Canucks period. LOL

Tebow and the Broncos did about what was anticipated against the Pats. Lots of players are very religious. There's no shame in losing to the Pats or the Packers with QBs like Aaron Rogers and Tom Brady. BTW, does everybody know that Tom Brady was cut by the Brady Bunch?

The Flyers?...really. Their uniforms are ugly as hell. Even their logo, that stupid winged P is ugly. I guess that having Bobby Clarke as the face of the franchise for years suited them. He was one ugly Mofo.

The only positive thing I can say about the Flyers is at least they're not the Leafs

Where was Shorty murdered and how did the killers get his body to the gravesite? Was he murdered behind the movie set or down the road on the turnout? Anotherwords was Shorty's body rolled down the steep roadside clift or was he hauled from behind the movieset towards the railroad tracks without ever getting on the highway. I've always thought he was murdered roadside and his body was rolled down the clift to be buried by the tracks.

Mr. P., this is from Bruce's 1978 parole hearing:

>>>INMATE DAVIS: Well, we started from the Spahn Ranch. We were going down the road toward San Fernando Valley, and Tex stabbed Shorty, Well, first we pulled the car over. He said, "Pull over here." So we pulled over, and they pulled him out of the car, and they took him down the bank. Well, I got out of the back -- I was in the back seat.

BOARD MEMBER SIDES: Who said to pull over?

INMATE DAVIS: Tex told Shorty, who was driving, to pull over.

MR. BAKES: Is this an open area? Is it a residential area? What kind of area is it?

INMATE DAVIS: No, it's not. There's underbrush and scrub, and it's a hill coming like this, and the road is going this way, so,there's a bank over here and a bank here. So we're going along like this. So he told Shorty to pull over to the right-hand side of the road. He pulled him out of the car.>>>

The way Bruce & Clem described it, they were on the road leaving the ranch and told Shorty to pull over near an enbankment.

Bobby Clarke actually is a very nice guy, nothing at all like the dirty player he use to be. Back in the day, I was a regular at the Spectrum and got to socialize with a few of the players. Hockey players off the ice are very down to earth and friendly people.

On the ice, you have to be a little meaner.

i've got an autographed bobby clarke card from 1975.
strange thing for a bruins fan to have but he was one of my favorite players when i was a kid.
take the shortest route to the puck and arrive in ill humor, isnt that the old flyers saying?

TomG said...

Bobby Clarke was my idol when I was in high school, and in the 80's when I was older, I got to meet him and drink with him and saw he was just another human being with a full set of concerns and character defects and it taught me to never idealize anyone else.

But I still to this day think he's a good man. Because he is.

"Tim Tebow....

I live in CO and watched the press interview Tebow after the game (after the Patriots were interviewed). If I had a daughter, I'd be on Cloud Nine if she brought home such a fine young man like Tebow. He was grateful to his God, he was grateful to his fans, and he was grateful to his teammates. He also said the nicest things about Brady and the Patriots. TomG, you're wrong. Jesus didn't leave "his boy" hanging. As Tebow has said many times, Jesus has more important things to do than worry about football games. But Tebow is thankful after every game, win or lose, that he was blessed to play on this team and do good things with his fame.

TomG said...

Okay Carol. I can dig that.

katie8753 said...

Hi Carol!

Tim Tebow sounds like a really nice kid. I was reading in the paper this morning that his mother almost lost him 4 times before his birth.

I think it's great that he's so open about his religion. He's got spunk!!!!

If I were to pull into the parking lot of the California Institute for Women, guess what?

Baby is coming out with me. I'm from Jersey and I don't like people from California but be it smooth or be it nasty, baby walks out the front gate with me.

Then we'd go to Motel 8 or Days Inn or whatever was close by and I'd guess I'd have to bang her. Thats alot of time incarcerated and who knows what that does to them.

Then I'd punch in my house on the Garmin GPS and east we would go!

Sounds like a plan.

katie8753 said...

Tom are you talking about Big Patty or Horseteeth?

Better bring some brillo pads. HA HA.

TomG said...

Horseteeth.

MrPoirot said...

Horseteeth managed to really impress the guy who gave her a lift back to Spahns after she had butchered Rosemary Labianca. That dude was smitten with Leslie and came back in search of her at the ranch that week. He had decided that Leslie was the girl he wanted to take back home for his mom to meet. One minute Leslie is carving up Rosemary and the next minute she's flirting with a young man. Apparently Leslie showed absolutely no observable emotional effects from the murders she was just commiting.

weird that Lynyrd, Matt P and I are all diehard Bruins fans and TomG for those feckless Flyers.
could there be a correlation between Manson and hockey? I see Charlie as a goalie.
Thanks Dilligaf for your insightful comments on statute of limitations. I still fantasize about one more Manson trial. Shorty's murder was never adaquately investigated or prosecuted in my opinion.
