"The Ultimate Evil" is Finally Put to Rest

With DNA solving the murder of Arliss Perry we can finally throw out all our copies of the late Maury Terry’s Ultimate Evil which tried to connect Charles Manson and the Son of Sam Murders as some kind of East-West Satanic Cult. Maybe there’s hope for us yet that some new Manson info might emerge....

Wow... that was a grizzly murder scene.
What a freaking maniac...

I hope there's a special place in hell, for assholes like that...

The picture of Arlis Perry in this article does not look like the one in Maury Terry's book. If I saw the pictures next to each other I would say they were not the same person. I'm glad it's solved but I believe both her parents have died, but I think she had siblings. Her husband at the time of murder is/was Bruce Perry a famous child psychiatrist in Texas who worked with some of children who survived the Branch Davidian inferno in Waco. He came forward, many years ago saying he didn't believe there was a conspiracy involved in his wife's murder and it appears he was correct.

I was wrong her mother is 88 and still alive but her father died three months ago.

Now its time to solve the Zodiac Murders. DNA says it was not Arthur Lee Allen unless he had a partner who licked the stamps.

Kim Kardashian is visiting women prisoners in CIW to talk about release. Maybe she can get Pat & Leslie out. LOL.

I don't know Katie she got some woman pardoned and released through Trump.

Well if Trump lets Leslie or Pat out, I'll eat my hat!! If I had a hat!

If you do eat your hat can you put it on youtube

This is the first I've heard of this. SHAZAM!

katie8753 said...

Beauders LOL.

Boy wouldn't that be something. Pat & Leslie thanking Kim Kardashian for getting them out. YOWSAH!! They could be on Kim's reality show and live in her mansion. Then they could sneak in her room with kitchen knives and...oh well let's just say she should hide all the sharp objects in the house and sleep with one eye open.

beauders said...

That is the only way I would ever watch a Kim Kardashian reality show, if Pat and Leslie were her new roommates, but I would leave the knives lying around.

No my friend. This case isn't totally solved. There's evidence of there being more than one culprit. Stephen Crawford isn't entirely innocent and was likely an accomplice to the real killer. There's at least two more suspects besides Crawford which the Stanford police are overlooking.
There's a sandy haired or blondish haired young man of medium build of about 5 foot, 10 inches tall who was seen to enter Arliss Perry's workplace and was arguing with her about something the day before the murder. This unknown young man was also seen to have entered the church on the same night as the murder. It's as if this person was following her and expecting her to be at Stanford church. It's speculates this unknown young man was a Satanist looking for a sacrifice and found one in Arliss. This may be the real killer, and Crawford an accomplice.
Witness Brian McCracken claims he coincidentally passed by Stanford church on the very night of the murder, just mere moments before the murder, in October 1974. He heard weird music coming from inside the church and decided to go in and have a look. He saw a young guy in an Afro wig playing a flute at the altar and next to him was a naked woman resembling Arliss surrounded by lighted candles. McCracken felt he was intruding and decided to leave. He didn't bother mentioning what he saw to anyone until 2011 or 37 years later, which is strange. The flute playing musician was questioned and said he is innocent of this crime. Was he also an accomplice to the real killer? We can only guess and speculate.
No one really knows who the real killer or killers are. The Stanford police are convinced Stephen Crawford the security guard was the sole culprit. The Stanford police are overlooking other suspects. This case continues to be a mystery.

starship said...

I hear you, Alex, however: Unless there's other DNA to be investigated then it's pretty compelling he acted alone. Also, even though he was a suspect, how thoroughly was he investigated? Anything in his background to link him to satanists or another cult?

But don't hold your breath waiting for the police to do anything more.

There's no evidence that Stephen Crawford nor the flute playing musician seen by witness Brian McCracken are Satanists, but the unknown sandy haired young man who had an intense 15 minute argument with Armies at her workplace a day before the murder and who was seen to enter Stanford church on the night of the murder at practically the same time as Arliss, is likely a Satanist. No one heard what they were arguing about, but it shook Arliss. It's speculated that he was a Satanist looking for a sacrifice. This raises a horrifying possibility to this already horrifying crime. It's rumoured that Arliss was a devout Christian and she tried to convert Satanists in her native North Dakota and the Satanists tried to convert her to the dark side. The Satanists may have succeeded, and may have convinced Arliss to engage in a Satanic ritual. She may have volunteered as an experiment. According to mainstream Christianity, anyone who practices Satanic rituals is doomed to end up in hell. So Arliss Perry may end up in the place which burns with fire forever. But if this is true, why would God allow this to happen to a devout Christian inside a church?
The flute playing musician witnessed by Brian McCracken and William Mentzer, a career criminal in jail for other crimes, are other suspects. Semen stains were found at the crime scene which indicates that this murderous cretin masturbated inside the church. What kind of monster does this? The semen is said to belong to Stephen Crawford. The young sandy haired man was a stalker who stalked and followed her to her workplace and to Standard church. Crawford was one of the culprits here, but not the only one.

The spell check on my computer is spelling the names Arliss and Stanford wrong by substituting these names with the words Armies and Standard. It's frustrating. Getting back to this Arliss Perry murder case, the more you read about it, the more convoluted and the more disturbing it gets.
Longtime criminal William Mentzer, dubbed as Manson 2, is said by some sources to have killed Arliss Perry, or was involved in some way, as was Stephen Crawford. Perhaps William Mentzer, Stephen Crawford, the flute playing musician, and the unknown sandy haired young man were all involved in this crime.
There's still much we don't know and all we can do is guess and speculate further. As stated previously, the unknown sandy haired young man who had an argument with Arliss at her workplace and who entered the church on the night of the murder seems to be the most likely suspect for being the killer. As for motive or motives, as already described, Arliss was a devout Christian who got involved with Satanists. She tried to convert them, and they tried to convert her. Maybe the differences in religion angered the Satanists. Maybe they needed a sacrifice. Or maybe the unknown sandy haired young man was merely attracted to her and wanted to get physically close with Arliss, and she rejected him because she was married or for whatever other reason. The young man couldn't take no for an answer, and in a rage, he killed her. But there is a Satanic element to it. After beating her and strangling her, this monster stabbed her skull with an ice pick, and then positioned her body in a hexagram shape, and stuffed her with candles in what appears to be a Black Mass type of ritual/desecration inside a church.
Different sources give different times for when security guard Stephen Crawford closed the church on that Saturday night/Sunday morning, October 12 and 13, 1974. Who and what are we to believe? It's claimed that Arliss went inside Stanford church around Midnight or 12 AM, which was closing time for the church. Crawford claims he locked up the church at 12:10 AM, while witness Brian McCracken said he saw the flute playing musician with a naked woman at the church altar at midnight. Something here just doesn't jive. Either someone is wrong or mistaken about the exact time of the church closing. We don't really know exactly what time Arliss entered the church, nor do we know exactly what time Brian McCracken witnessed the strange ritual, and we don't really know exactly what time Crawford locked the church.

We don't really know exactly how long Arliss suffered at the hands of the killer or killers inside that church. The police were called to investigate and they found the church doors locked. They did not bother going in. Crawford claims he didn't see nor hear anyone before he closed the church for the night. Either he was lying, and knew that the killer was inside the church with Arliss, or he was just careless. The killer or killers could have drugged Arliss or threatened her to keep quiet, and could have been hiding in the pews, or could have been hiding inside the bathroom or the closet and waited until everyone left the church so they can perform their vile devilish ritual.
The husband of Arliss, Bruce Perry, seems to be an inattentive, careless, irresponsible husband who was more concerned with his schooling, job, and career than he was for the safety of his wife. Arliss was a pretty, fragile, defenseless woman and he was allowing her to roam around in California, which has one of the highest crime rates in the world. In that time period of 1973-1974, there were three other serial killings in Stanford besides the killing of Arliss Perry. Were the police on vacation in Stanford in 1973-1974? Four murders in the space of just one year in the same town suggests incompetent police at the time.
If there are any lessons to be learned from this horrific, disgusting crime, it's 1. Don't mess around with Satanists. 2.Don't wander around a dangerous place alone and unsupervised especially if you are a physically small, fragile, defenseless woman, and 3. More police are needed round the clock in churches and we need closed circuit security cameras in churches, in parking lots, in malls, at the workplace, in schools, everywhere, because danger and evil is everywhere.

Alex, who are the three serial killers in Palo Alto/Stanford?

Alex said...

The other three serial killings in Stanford are all mysteries. In 1973-1974, two young women and one young man were murdered. No motive is known, and the identity of the killer or killers is unknown. Today the Stanford police are totally convinced that Stephen Crawford killed Arliss Perry and are investigating if he committed these other murders since he was living in Stanford in the 1970s. So far there's no evidence he committed these other murders. No one really knows who did these other killings. These are all considered cold case, unsolved crimes. We need more competent police round the clock everywhere and we need closed circuit security cameras, drones with cameras, and aerial satellites with cameras if we want to fight crime effectively. We also need to isolate violent persons and keep them away from decent folks. We need to protect decent folks and not worry about the rights of evildoers and criminals. We should be merciful with some criminals, but for hardened, unrepentant murder, aggravated assault, arson, torture, rape, there should be no mercy for these thugs. The Stanford killings of 1973-1974 were all brutal homicides, and the killer or killers don't deserve any mercy.
California is plagued by many ills, from violent crime and all other crimes, pollution, overpopulation, earthquakes, droughts, Satanism, invasive vermin such as Recluse spiders, massive traffic jams, road rage, poverty, high suicide rates. Its a shame. All this Human evil and all this Natural evil has ruined what could have been the loveliest state.

I've been dealing with some health issues since January and haven't been able to do anything with the book. My mother also has end stage Alzheimer's and she and my stepfather live with me. We've kept her out of a nursing home and that was the goal, but things are very difficult. I lost a kidney in January and have had sepsis twice. If any of you have kidney stones or develop them in the future get rid of them, that's what started this. I've had eight kidney stone removal procedures in the five years, three of them including cutting, all with anesthesia. With only one kidney my whole life has changed, healthy food is now unhealthy such as spinach, can never eat it again, but I'm healing and that's what matters.

Thanks Lynyrd could you say a prayer for my mom. I would rather end her life myself and deal with consequences than ever put her in a nursing home. Alzheimer's is a cruel, unforgiving disease.

I have no idea how hard kidney disease is. It sounds really tough. But I know you're tough too! Hang in there baby-doll!!!

There you will meet a special needs kitten named Aura (after the cheese) also check out Mason a rescued feral. He is amazing. I will not ruin it for you but he is really something. The owner of the site also has another miracle cat that was born with only his front legs. I wasn't sure I liked that until I saw how happy this cat is. He acts just like the other cats, is as happy as a clam, and is very playful. This is where I go when I am sad. It's hard to continue being sad with these charmers on you screen. Anyone else out there that loves cats check this page out too, it will make your day.

I feel that the Stanford police have bungled this case. They have bungled it for almost 44 years since it happened in October 1974. Maybe they are tired of it and after finding Stephen Crawford as the top suspect, they are eager to close the case.
It was a mistake to barge in on him when he was in his apartment. That gave him an opportunity to get his gun and shoot himself to death. He is worth more alive than dead. Now we will never know what role he played in this crime. They should have arrested him after he left his apartment out in the open before he got a chance to get his gun and shoot himself.
Different sources give different times for the events on that horrible night in October 12/13, 1974. Why does this matter? Well, consider this. One source says Crawford locked up the church at 11:45 PM and another source says he locked up at 12:10AM. Well, which is it, for blistering sakes? If he locked up the church at 11:45, then how did witness Brian McCracken manage to enter the church and see the strange ritual which he claims happened at 12:00 midnight? Then we have one source saying Arliss entered the church at 11:30 PM and another source says she entered at 12:00 midnight. Jeez, can't anyone get their facts straight?
It appeared that Crawford was a lazy, careless, sloppy security guard who couldn't detect a crime happening right under his nose. But now it seems it's as it's a lot more serious than just laziness and incompetence. Now it seems he was in cahoots with the killer and an accomplice to the killer and helped with the killing. Nothing good has come out of this case. The Devil and evil rules the world. This case makes me disgusted.

Sharon Tate's wedding dress is going to be auctioned off. Wasn't that stolen?

Alex said...

This case is convoluted. It's another one of those murder cases similar to Jack the Ripper and the Zodiac killer in that there are multiple suspects and no absolute evidence to determine who the real killer or killers are.
There's evidence security guard Stephen Crawford being the killer or one of the killers, and there's evidence that he had nothing to do with this killing and was innocent and whose only fault was carelessness.
One scenario of this crime which suggests Crawford was not the killer is that when he opened up the church at 5:45 AM and discovered Arliss Perry's body, he said that he found one of the doors in the church was forced open from the inside. This suggests that someone, the killer or killers, made their way out of the church after doing their vile crime. One source claims that Stanford church at one time had underground tunnels and the killer or killers escaped through this tunnel.
It's also possible that Crawford lied about finding the door forced open. It's also possible he knew full well the killer or killers were inside the church with Arliss and he allowed it to happen. What's also suspicious about Crawford is when the police were called to go to the church because Arliss was missing, Crawford, according to one source, told the police that he locked up the church and to not go in! Why would he tell the police not to go in? Because he knew that the killer or killers were inside the church committing their vile crime. The police SHOULD have entered the church. Maybe it was already too late to save Arliss by the time the police were called between 2 AM to 3 AM, but maybe the police could have at least caught the killer or killers had they entered, unless the killer or killers already left the church.
It's also suspicious why Crawford would open up the church so early in the morning at 5:45 AM. If Crawford was the sole killer and no one else, as the Stanford police claim, then he could have easily left the church on his own. But if he was the killer, why would he leave the body in plain sight where it could be easily found? Did he really think that the police wouldn't figure out that sooner or later, he was the killer? As incompetent as the Stanford police are, sooner or later they will figure out that the security guard who works at the church is the real killer with this DNA technology and fingerprints technology.
This case continues to be a mystery.

Joe Col said...

i don't believe Crawford killed her. There was a candle rammed into her vagina with a partial palm print that did not match Crawford's or her husband. My guess is that he was convinced to lock her in the church and was possibly present during the killing, then threatened to keep quiet regarding what occurred. He remained employed there for a few years afterwards. Also, the book The Ultimate Evil was found in his possession after his suicide. No, I don't believe this case has been closed.

Alex said...

You are well informed and intelligent. This case isn't closed and isn't really solved. Those fingerprints were at first said not to belong to Crawford but only in the last two years it is said that it does belong to Crawford. Another problem is that because Crawford worked there at the church, his fingerprints and DNA would be all over the place. That alone doesn't prove he is the killer. Anyone visiting that church and touching the doors and pews would have their DNA on it as well.
The fact that Crawford wrote a suicide note and killed himself when surrounded by police indicates that he was responsible in some way in this killing. That doesn't prove he was the sole killer, but does prove that he was involved in some way up to a point. My opinion is that he was an accomplice. Maybe he witnessed the killing and helped with the killing, or maybe he gave permission for the killer or killers to use the church to kill Arliss in a Satanic ritual/sacrifice and allowed the killer or killers to escape before the police could enter the church. The real killer or killers are still loose and no one except Crawford knows who they are. Now we will never know since Crawford took his life.
While there have been new and disturbing developments happening within this case in the last two years, there's still much that remains a mystery. I don't think it is ever going to be solved.

Alex said...

From what I understand, Crawford became the top suspect because the semen found at the crime scene inside the church matched his DNA. Why was he not a suspect at first and then later on he becomes the top suspect? Why did it take 42 to 44 years to determine the semen came from Crawford?
There's enough evidence to suggest that Crawford was not alone in this crime, but the Stanford police are content to close the case when the case isn't really closed and isn't really solved. whoever the killer or killers were that did this are incredibly sadistic, cruel, heartless, and with no conscience. These people are pure evil and scary. These are not people to mess with. These people are more evil than Satan whom they worship.
This case ranks as one of the worst in history. Stanford church is forever marred by this disgusting, monstrous crime. I can't imagine what its like for churchgoers to go there and perhaps to sit there in the very spot where this crime/sacrifice took place. What a horrible, disgraceful legacy to happen in a church. That church belongs to the Devil ever since this crime happened in October 1974.Its like something out of a horror movie. This case illustrates that the world is ruled by the Devil. There's a lot to fear and a lot to worry about.

Joe Col said...

I agree with you, Alex. His DNA would be there regardless as he had been employed there for quite some time. Regarding the suicide note, I had read that it was not written recently, it was around two years old and didn't mention the murder. Also, the police went to his house with a search warrant, not an arrest warrant. If he was their killer, cut & dry, why not arrive with an arrest warrant?

Alex said...

I'm not sure if the police went to Crawford"s apartment with a search warrant or with an arrest warrant. The suicide note is from two years ago because that's when the authorities started collecting enough DNA evidence to make him the top suspect for this crime and he was under strong suspicion in the last two years as being the killer. Perhaps he realized that his days were numbered and the authorities would arrest him any day.
Crawford is neither innocent and neither is he the cold blooded evil monster who killed a defenseless woman inside a church. This is not a cut and dried case.
This crime is one of the reasons why California is a dangerous place.

Alex, why are you so invested in the Perry murder being occult related. I like the Ultimate Evil too, but Maury Terry provided no sources for what he wrote. I know he got a lot of his information from Ed Sanders who also provided no sources. Maury Terry told a source of mine it was Sandra Good who told him that Abigail Folger Shorty Shea and Charlie Manson had that infamous lunch together. If that's true it was provided as disinformation. I do believe Berkowitz was in a cult but I have come across nothing that says it was tied to Manson or Arlis Perry, so what do you know that ties it to them (Perry and Manson).

Beauders the Perry murder is occult related for several reasons. Arliss was known to try to convert Satanists in her native North Dakota before moving to California. She angered the Satanists for some unknown reason. She messed with the wrong people. Someone followed her to her workplace in California and to Stanford church on the fateful night she was murdered. The unknown sandy haired young man that's still unidentified. Furthermore the killer or killers posed her body in a hexagram shape and stuffed her orifice with candles. This is very similar to a Satanic ritual known as the Black Mass, and there is a similar scene in the novel and movie, The Exorcist, which has similar disgusting blasphemous desecrations being done inside a church. In The Wxorcist it's the demon possessed girl causing this desecration, while in the real life Arliss Perry murder, the killer or killers caused the desecration. Her murder was both a desecration of a church, a sacrifice to Satan, and a means to punish her for angering the Satanists. These people are not to be messed with.
It's also speculated that her murder was performed on October 12/13 which is the birthday of the infamous Satanist, Aleister Crowley. So this murder was also a homage to Crowley, who did similar vile, disgusting things in his life and who summoned and communicated with Satanic entities.
Not all Satanists are violent criminals and not all of them do sacrifices. I guess it depends on the group and on the individual. Arliss was foolish enough to try to convert some of these Satanists. The best advice is to stay away from them and if they happen to approach you, try to be polite. Try not to anger them. These people are scary and dangerous. It's wise to fear them.

Aside from Stephen Crawford, there really isn't any other suspect that is known to be the killer of Arliss Perry. As far as I'm concerned, this case remains unsolved and unclosed. We still don't know who really killed Arliss Perry. We don't know who these cults are. It remains unknown. We don't know who she met in her native North Dakota and we don't know who the sandy haired young man was who followed her in California at her workplace and to Stanford church. These are all unknown mysteries and will remain that way. We can guess and speculate, but at the end of the day, we don't know, and we will never know.
Evil is super prevalent in the world and universe, and is way stronger than the good. Evil often triumphs over the good. Evil is scary and dangerous. My advice is once again to stay away from Satanists, and try not to anger them. Let's count our blessings as long as they don't hurt us. Just be thankful they don't hurt us. I'm very scared of these people. There's nothing more to say.

Alex, have you done independent research on Perry's murder or do you base this on Maury Terry/Ed Sanders research? I find the Perry murder interesting too but can't find anything on her murder except Terry/Sanders.

Aside from the Maury Terry book there's not many other books about the Arliss Perry murder except a few paragraphs. There's only one other book devoted in detail to the Arliss Perry murder by author Darla Foster, called "Who Killed Arliss Perry?" I haven't found it yet in bookstores. When I first read about this horrific case 30 plus years ago I was horrified.
I think it's best to not dwell on this case for several reasons. The people who did this are extremely evil, scary, and dangerous. They're immoral, amoral and have no conscience. Be scared of these people like you would be scared of a rattlesnake, like you would be scared of cancer, like you would be scared of ebola. These people have no qualms about killing if they suspect someone is snitching or if they want a sacrifice for Satan. These people are super duper evil.
Our world is filled with evil of all kinds. Why would God allow this? Cancer, ebola, heart disease, stroke, aneurysm, tooth decay, meningitis, malaria, Harlequin ichthyosis, mosquitoes, ticks, centipedes, recluse spiders, jellyfish, hurricanes, tsunamis, murder, rape, Satanism, ritual sacrifice, pollution, intense cold, intense heat, starvation, etc.
The Devil and demons are used to explain all the Natural evil and all the Human evil or Moral evil in the world. The Zoroastrian version of the Devil, Angra-mainyu/Ahriman, is said to be the creator and cause of all evil, while the Egyptian deity known as Set is one of the earliest versions of the Devil in written history, before the Hebrew Satan was invented. Satan is better known as liar, tempter, and deceiver rather than a physical torturer. The book of Job is the only place in the Bible where Satan inflicts physical torture and death.
Author Jeffrey Burton Russell has an interesting book, "The Devil-Perceptions of evil from Antiquity to Primitive Christianity," and author William Peter Blatty wrote "Legion," which is a sequel to The Exorcist and which became a movie, "Exorcist 3- Legion." This deals with Moral evil, Human evil, Natural evil, and Supernatural evil.
Rosemary's Baby, The Exorcist and it's sequels, and Beyond the Door all deal with Satanism and demonic possession. Beyond the door has a San Francisco woman who becomes possessed by a demon. Vile, degenerate, disgusting, and violent behavior and language, levitation, and telekinesis are among the symptoms, and the children's dolls and toys come to life in one scene. There's a sense of utter helplessness and the Devil is shown to be way stronger than God, who is silent and absent in this movie. Evil is all around us, everywhere.

The infamous Charles Manson passed away last year. The motive for the Tate/Labianca murders is convoluted. Theres probably more than one reason why these killings took place. Charles Manson aspired to be a musician and became close with the Beach Boys and with Terry Melcher a music producer. Melcher wouldn't accept Manson"s music and this infuriated Charlie so much he went Melcher's house to kill him and anyone else in the house. Charles Tex Watson and the Manson women were both on drugs at the time, the kind of drugs that cause violent behavior. Different sorts of theories have been made about the motive to these murders. It continues to be an impressive mystery.

The Ultimate Evil was a bit ridiculous trying to tie all these crimes into one big satanic conspiracy. I do feel there may have been something to the son of Sam and the Carr brother that killed himself in South Dakota I think.Something wasn't right about Berkowitz's arrest and the many unanswered questions that were swept under the rug shortly after he was in custody. It may not be other killers. Berkowitz I truly think was in some study when he was in the service. Him,Dahmer,Mcviegh,Chapman and the list goes on and on were in some secret program I believe and some of them have said it. It goes back to and I'm sure alot of you are to young to recall all those lone nut gunman that were in possession of the Catcher and the Rye when they were arrested. That's some coincidence. I've never been a huge Conspiracy nut but that was some sort of MK ultra mind control program. It's really not as ridiculous as it sounds since the CIA actually admits this program exhausted but claim they ended it in the early 70s

I never really bought into the helter skelter motive. It's to far out.Im not going to put my opinion in the the mix because I can't prove my theory. But one reason I'm pretty certain we never will know for sure is the prosecution was protecting big names in Hollywood. Example look how Dennis Wilson's involvement with these people was kept very low key. He absolutely should have been a witness at these trials but nope. Everyone of his friends but him had to testify.

Manson even said that if the truth ever came out Hollywood would never be the same.

I know I wrote that it's best to not dwell on this Arliss Perry case, but this case is like the Tate/Labianca murder case. It gives and gives and gives. Let me say a few more things. From everything I have read, it seems Arliss planned on going to that church very late at night to meet someone, and perhaps that someone was the unknown sandy haired young man who came and argued with her at her workplace and who was seen to enter the church on the night she was killed, and perhaps this was her killer. What were they arguing about and what made the young man so angry that he killed her and desecrated a church is anyone's guess. Isn't it odd, foolish, and insane to go wandering around in a crime filled place late at night? Isn't it unnerving to decide to meet someone at a church in the late hours of the night at or near closing time? Why would Arliss agree to meet someone she barely knew in the wee hours of the night inside a church? This wasn't Bible study, and there was no priest nor minister at this time of the day. Just strangers and a security guard. Maybe she got a false sense of security by being inside a church and thought she was safe. How wrong to think that. Not even our churches are safe. Something is just not right with a physically fragile, defenseless woman who decides to go alone inside a church at that late hour. And what kind of man is her husband who allowed it? That's not much of a man. He allowed his wife to go in that church at that late hour and just walked home. He left her in the hands of the Devil all because of a stupid argument about the tire pressure on their car? They have only been married and only been in California for two months only to become victims of a horrendous crime. Either don't allow her to go in that church at all, or go with her and protect her. But no, he just decided to leave her there in harm's way. And the award for Worst Husband of the year goes to Bruce Perry. His stupidity and carelessness helped to make this disgusting, horrible crime happen.
I read somewhere that a woman in Berkeley, California had a similar horrifying experience like Arliss. Unlike poor Arliss, this woman lived to tell about it. This woman claimed that she was lured by two young men to go to a church for a meeting. They were really phony priests. When she went to this church, they put her in a room filled with a bed, seven chairs, tall burning candles, and a bust of the Devil. Obviously they were up to something diabolical. She was able to leave. She said this happened at a church in Berkely, California just two weeks after Arliss Perry was murdered, in the fall of 1974! So there were Satanic rituals being performed in Christian churches in California in 1974 it seems. What's going on here? This is scary and disturbing.
Satanism, Devil worship, demon worship is everywhere in America and the world, in books, movies, music, in parks, in forests, in politics, in churches, everywhere. The Disney character Maleficent from the 1959 cartoon Sleeping Beauty, and from the live action 2014 movie, Maleficent, has horns on her head and is said to get her power straight from the Devil. And in Oklahoma and Michigan, Satanists have unveiled statues of Baphomet who has the head of a goat and the body of a human. Satanism is becoming more and more mainstream. Yes, it's scary.

Alex take it easy it is not Arlis or Bruce Perry's fault that Arlis was murdered. It is the murderers fault. People at that time and even today have false senses of safety. Stanford is am elite school no one would be fearful of going into a church there at midnight on a weekend. Just look at that poor jogger in Iowa, she tried to save herself but it was too late. She certainly didn't expect to be adducted, probably raped, and murdered, or she wouldn't have been where she was. Also how do you know Arlis was supposed to meet someone at the church? Maury Terry has even claimed that he didn't know if there was another reason Arlis went to the church.

Alex said...

Well its true that murders and crimes can happen anywhere at anytime to almost anyone. Maybe neither Arliss nor her husband knew of the horrors that would happen in that church. Maybe Satanic ritual murder/sacrifice was a novelty in 1974 and no one yet expected something like this would happen. But it was certainly unwise to wander around alone if you're a physically feeble, fragile, defenseless woman. Remember that Stanford had a high crime rate in the 1970s, and especially 1974. Her husband should have went with her to protect her or they should have gone with a bodyguard. She should have carried mace, pepper spray, or a Taser with her. Have some kind of protection on you so if someone wants to do harm, then one shot of pepper spray will make them think twice next time they decide to hurt somebody. A zap from a tazer will also discourage a would be criminal. While I hate guns, I feel that every decent person has the right to defend themselves from criminals. Let's face it. The police cannot be everywhere 24 hours a day to save us.
As for whether or not Arliss planned on meeting someone at the church late that night, that is speculation and guesswork on my part. I could be right or wrong in what I think. Yes it's possible she wasn't intending on meeting anyone, but also possible that she was. We will never know, sad to say.
Stanford, California has a higher than average crime rate, and it was especially dangerous in the 1970s. The Zodiac, Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Rodney Alcala, Dennis Rader, and David Berkowitz terrorized America during the 1970s.
The woman who encountered two Satanists in a Berkely, California church in fall of 1974 is named Renwellyn. I don't know her last name. She claims she was 22 years old in 1974 and was lured inside the church where a Satanic ritual was being prepared with tall burning candles. She managed to escape from those degenerate Devil worshippers. The experience scared her nonetheless. California is full of insane people. I'm

This Arliss Perry murder case has all the earmarks of a who done it mystery. It taxes the mind. I don't know whether or not Crawford did the killing or not. Maybe he left his semen there which is bad enough, but I'm not entirely convinced that he's the sole killer. The bottom line is I don't know. No one really knows. What about the candles found on Arliss? Whose fingerprints and DNA do they belong to? In 44 years the authorities still have failed to find the suspect whose DNA belongs on those candles? Another problem that makes things harder to solve is that since Crawford worked there at the church his fingerprints and DNA would be all over the place. So its pretty damn near impossible to determine whether or not he is the killer. The person who left the semen and the person who did the actual killing could be two different people. The Stanford police can't seem to grasp this and have focused on Crawford as being the sole killer when there could be another more dangerous suspect still on the loose.
The Brian McCracken sighting of a wig wearing, flute playing musician inside Stanford church on the night of the murder makes this case more confounding, more confusing, and more disturbing. McCracken seems like an honest witness. But here's the problem. There's no one else making that he was there at the church that night and no one else, including author Maury Terry, ever mention that a man of Brian McCracken's description entered the church and no one else mentioned a wig wearing, flute playing musician inside the church. How come no one else but McCracken noticed this musician being inside the church? How come no one else noticed McCracken being inside the church? How come Crawford didnt notice these two guys? We only have the words of McCracken that be was really there at the church and that this sighting really happened. McCracken claims he entered the church at midnight and saw a wig wearing, flute playimg musician at the front of the church and there's a naked woman lying on an altar surrounded by burning candles. McCracken walked out of the church and didnt mention this sighting until 2011. Why did it take him so long to mention this to the police? This is very confounding. This case isn't likely to ever be solved.

I'm not so sure that things re: the Arlis Perry murder can be so neatly tied together with this security guard blowing his brains out. I don't know if anyone has had the opportunity or desire to read Maury Terry's 2015 updated Ultimate Evil. There HAS to be more people involved in this case then simply this security guard. Terry really does a credible job of making the case for at LEAST one more killer. If you recall from Terry's book, Berkowitz (SOS) provided a book that actually says:"Arlis Perry-stalked from Minot and slain". SOMEONE had to have been following Arlis for some time as I don't think this was just a 'one-off' killing..there was something behind it. When she & Bruce moved to Stanford some other guy (who was registered at the phone company) impersonated Bruce..same middle name..all of it. No one knew who this person was and in the next printing of the phone book the entry had been deleted. I've read EVERY edition of Ultimate Evil but the last one (he died last year) really fills in a lot more..not just re: Arlis but how everything connected (and his reasonings and evidence for that). It would be NICE if this security guard was behind the whole thing..but, honestly, I just don't buy it.

Alex said...

Yes. Arlis was tracked down by Satanists in her native North Dakota to Stanford, California. For whatever reason or reasons, she was killed. The Stanford police initially thought the culprit was a local lone psychopath and recently they have thrown the entire blame on Crawford. The Stanford police are mentally near sighted and cannot see or refuse to see outside the box. They have bungled this case right from the get go, 44 years ago and they continue to bungle it.
They didn't make any effort trying to identify the unknown sandy haired young man who argued with Arlis at her workplace and who was seen entering the church on the very night of the murder. Is it just a coincidence that he just happened to go inside the church after Arlis? No. He was stalking her and trying to isolate her so he can do his crime. Crawford was likely his accomplice and allowed him to use the church to commit a disgusting crime. Yes, there's something not right about Crawford, but there's no way that he is the sole culprit here.
We still don't know where this Brian McCracken sighting fits in with his claim of an Afro wig wearing, flute playing musician being in the church with Arlis on the night of the murder. Author Maury Terry doesn't mention anyone with the description of Brian McCracken and doesn't mention any Afro wig wearing, flute playing musician in his book. In fact, no one else mentions these two characters as being inside the church, and no one else even notices these two characters being inside the church on the night of the murder. Why? How could this be? Brian McCracken is an honest guy. He isn't making this up. The McCracken sighting with the musician and with McCracken himself being in the church on the night of the killing is unaccounted for and makes this case more confounding, more confusing, and harder to solve.
Arlis found the name of an unknown person with the same name as her husband, Bruce Perry. This other Bruce Perry disappeared and no one knows who he is, and another disturbing fact is that the grave of Arlis was disturbed and vandalized back in her native North Dakota. This doesn't seem like a coincidence. There's more than one culprit in this case but the Stanford police are mentally myopic. This case is one of the most confounding and disturbing murder cases in history.

This murder case has similarities with the Druids, Maya's, Aztecs, and Mithraism which are pagan religions which do ritual sacrifices, killing animals and humans to appease their gods. See the movie The Dickerson which is about Druids. It's repulsive. The Mithra cult is especially horrifying. Called a Sacrificant, the guy who does the sacrifice for Mithra uses strangulation to kill. Absolutely horrific. It makes me nauseated and faint just thinking about. What kind of demented, degenerate, vile, perverted, repulsive demon does this? Mithra is probably one of the many other names for the Devil, or is some kind of demon. It's an evil deity.
Stanford church may have been made by pagans. Despite its beauty, that church belongs to the Devil.

Yea there was a bunch of them in possession of that book. Even as a child I knew something isn't right here. It's a bit scary thinking what could have been going on. It can't be coincidence in my opinion. Definitely something I'd like to see researched a bit more. I think they all served in the military as well

Simple case of a young wife out cheating on her husband her lover killed her in a rage of some kind. Probably staged the scene to be cult related. Maury Terry was quite a story teller.

I believe there is something to Manson and Bobby's claim years before Polanski was a known pedo that they were involved in child pornography. In my opinion these murders weren't robbery. I always got the feeling they were looking for something. Something they didn't find at Tate and somehow led them to Waverly. What I don't know but there was definitely a cover up. Kasabians original lawyer told her to never breath a word of it ever again in the reelz documentary I think. Polanski is a sick man and Sebring was a coke dealer and sexual deviant himself. No one in Hollywood was surprised by the Tate murders I've seen quoted several times over the years. Someone very important wanted something badly.

Alex said...

Anything is possible. Maybe the killer of Arlis was just a random psychopathic nutjob who did this crime because he had the opportunity to do it. Maybe he didn't do it for Satan. Some sources claim that her husband Bruce Perry is the culprit. Thats not likely at all. Maybe the killer was a secret boyfriend of Arlis. Or maybe it was this random security guard Crawford.
Or maybe author Maury Terry was right or closer to the truth that Satanists in her native North Dakota tracked her down. Who was the strange, unidentified young man who materialized out of nowhere and appeared at her workplace and who was lurking outside the Church and who entered the church the night of the murder? He is either the killer, or one of the killers, or a witness to the killer, or was one of the cult members who was there to attend and watch. Or maybe he was innocent of this crime and was there to merely meet with and talk with Arlis? But who decides to meet someone inside a church late at night near closing time? It seems that it had to be late at night near closing time because something sinister was going to happen and the church had to be empty and quiet.
Another question is, who carries an ice pick with them inside a church? The killer used an ice pick. Was it normal for people to carry ice picks with them everywhere in the 1970s? Ice picks are lethal weapons and it seems like the killer premeditated this killing. All the evidence points to a premeditated cult killing and not a random psychopathic nutjob. Is a Satanic ritual/murder sacrifice really worse than a random psychopathic nutjob doing this crime? Either way, it's a disgusting, heinous crime, and whoever did this is a demented degenerate demon.
Who is Bruce Perry number 2? In the last days of her life, Arlis was stalked by an unidentified man with the same name of her husband, Bruce Perry. Either this other Bruce Perry was one of the cult members who tracked her down to Stanford, and might even be the killer himself, or his name was phony. This other Bruce Perry disappeared without a trace. Whoever it was seems to have been one of the cult members.
If Crawford the security guard did this, then he didnt do it alone. Theres evidence that Crawford wasnt alone that night. The police are just incompetent to think that the case is solved. Not so. Theres evidence that this crime took more than one random security guard.

Carressa721 said...

I absolutely agree with you! This security guard committing suicide last year was supposed to be the end of the Arlis Perry case. Absolutely preposterous! He was more like a convenient pawn than anything. Look at the fact that Arlis was "hunted, stalked and slain" in a book of Berkowitz' is a little more than just coincidental..these are people that wanted her killed for one reason or another..she either got too close to the Satanic activity or knew/saw too much about the goings on in Minot and they thought her to be a threat so they took her out..although I think that's a little far to take it for something like that. I truly believe that this "Process" church had a huge hand in this and it stretched from NY in the Son of Sam murders out to LA as well as Minot with Michael and John Carr being involved in most of it. And,it is thought, that "Manson 2" is pretty much known (BM)..I won't mention his name in full. The second "Bruce Perry" at Stanford is another thing that stands out with more people being involved with this case than just the security guard. I think the guard work with at least a few more people...especially to inflict the degree of injuries that Arlis sustained. It wouldn't surprise me if the 'other' Bruce was someone either from LA or Minot (the LA person being Manson 2) This is ALL very well detailed in Maury Terry's last update of "The Ultimate Evil" in 2015 right before he passed. IMO, this case is in NO WAY solved...it's just the powers that be don't want to upset the apple cart because too many important people are involved!

There are many kinds of cults all over the world. The Perry murder case has cultish elements. Devil worshippers. Druids. Mithra cults. We don't know who they are. All we can do is speculate and guess. The Satanists and Devil worshippers are numerous and everywhere, and powerful. The very rich and famous are Satanists. Google the 1972 Satanic Rothschild party where it shows disturbing, disgusting rituals conducted somewhere in France. Rumours of sacrifices, blood drinking, and cannibalism abounds.
In 1970, a 22 year old hippie hitch hiker from Wyoming was caught and arrested in California. Stanley Dean Baker told police on his arrest that, " I have a problem. I'm a cannibal." He took out human finger bones from his pockets. He is said to have killed his victim, then dismembered the body, and ate the heart raw. Throughout the 1970s, human and animal victims have been found in states such as New Mexico and Texas with the victims blood being drained and the hearts being removed. Baker the hippie cannibal Satanist was put in prison. But the carnage continues to this day. Everything from aliens to devil worshipping cults and Chupacabras have been blamed for the cattle mutilations. As for the human victims, cults and pedophiles are being blamed as the culprits.
In Blaine county Idaho in the 1970s, hooded people in robes were seen in the woods and were seen forming road blocks with linked arms. A motorist encountered these hooded people one night blocking the road and had to turn around to escape. Sick disgusting rituals are said to take place in the woods, in caves, inside churches, and inside secret tunnels with animal sacrifices and human sacrifices taking place. The Devil is ruling the world.

Evil in the world is rampant, whether it's Moral evil or Human evil, or whether its Natural evil, or whether it's Supernatural evil. For example, just take a look at the Moral evil done by humans. The 1972 Satanic Rothschild party(look it up on the Internet/Google) is disgusting. It shows Marie Helen De Rothschild wearing antlers on her head and wearing the head of some kind of deer with antlers. An evil set of eyes peers from this mask. Then we have a photo showing the broken, dismembered dolls of human babies and cracked baby skulls, a group of turtles on a mound, and people wearing multi masks where it seems one person has two to three different faces. The demented Salvador Dali appears in one of these photos. Its rumoured these people worship Satan, drink blood, sacrifice babies, practice cannibalism, and use blood in their wines.
Nature also has a demonic, devilish, Satanic side. There's a thousand different diseases that torture and kill, venomous pests such as centipedes and box jellyfish which have stings more painful than kidney stone, intense cold, intense heat, hurricanes, tsunamis, and violence, carnage, killing, and death everywhere.
There are fearsome critters in land and in the water, both large and small. Mosquitoes and Screw worm flies cause misery and death to their victims, while diseases such as cancer, stroke, aneurysm, heart disease, tooth decay, diabetes cause suffering and death worldwide.
There are also unknown, unidentified animals all over the world known as Cryptids(see Cryptozoology/On the Track of Unknown Animals by Bernard Heuvelmans). The Lochness monster of Scotland and Bigfoot of North America are just two cryptids out of hundreds. In Africa there's the dinosaur like Mokele-mbembe in the Congo rainforests, while in Sudan there's a snake like monster known as the Lau, an amphibious meat eater which kills and eats people and which grows from 40 feet to 100 feet long. A 100 feet long meat eater? That's the size of a Blue Whale. In Lake Victoria, there lives the Lukwata, seen since 1900 by Sir Clement Hill, W. Grant, and T.E. Cox. Its said to be 20 feet to 30 feet long, has a long snake like neck, makes bellowing roars, kills and eats crocodiles and anything else it can catch, and grabs any humans it can catch in the water. It might be some kind of fish, or some kind of unknown whale, an unknown reptile, or maybe a living Plesiosaur. It has attacked and killed an unknown number of people, and the local tribes in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania live in great fear of these animals. The Lukwata is the scariest animal whether on land or in the water. Its wise to stay out of the water.
Supernatural evil is the evil done by the Devil, Satan, demons, Djinn, Archons, Nephilim, evil fairies. Demonic possessions are on the rise. The Annelise-Michel case in the 1970s in Germany is just one such case.

The Arliss Perry case proves that Berkowicz is an opportunistic fantasist and Maury Terry was a gullible sap.

There's absolutely zero reason to assume that Brian McKracken's story is worth anything, nor is there any evidence of Perry's supposed anti-satanic activities back home.

As for the Process, they would never have had anything to do with a putz like Berkowicz, or this Crawford guy for that matter.
I do happen to believe Berky was working with the Carr brothers, but they were just like modern day incels--small men who want to feel big.

I see there's more interest about this case. To address your comment, we don't really know what motivates Berkowitz to say what he says.
Brian McCracken's testimony isn't worth zero. When this Afro wig wearing, flute playing musician was tracked and questioned in 2011, he admitted that he wore a wig in the 1970s just as McCracken described when he entered the church on the night of the murder. That's one reason to believe McCracken. The musician may or may not be the killer. Maybe he was a witness to the killer, and maybe he left the church when the real killer arrived. Who knows? We can only guess and speculate.
There's good evidence that Arlis was involved and became entangled with Satanists starting in her native North Dakota and continuing with her murder in Stanford church in California. Yes it's probably true. North Dakota is filled with Satanists and especially during the 1970s. Arlis tried to convert them to Christianity. This angered them. For whatever reason the Satanists felt she needed to be killed.
Explain the fact that an unidentified young man was seen to enter her workplace and argued with Arlis for 15 minutes. That's not baloney. There's solid proof that this happened. I believe the witness who saw this was Mark Connors. He didn't hear what they were aeguing about. Arlis didn't talk about this unidentified young man. The witness who saw this initially thought it was Bruce her husband. He found out just a little later after the murder when he met her husband Bruce that the unidentified young man was someone totally different. Whoever this young unidentified guy was has something to do with this crime.
Then there were witnesses that saw an unidentified young man enter the church on the night of the murder. That's likely the real bastard who did the killing, or a cult member who came to watch. Yes it's possible the argument between Arlis and this unidentified young man didn't have anything to do with Satanism and it's possible the motive for killing her wasn't done for Satan but was done for a more mundane reason. It's possible that whoever this killer was did it because he wanted to get physically close with Arlis and when she refused he went into a murderous rage. Heck there's even another theory that the killer was a vagrant vandal who sneaked inside the church to vandalize it and Arlis was there and saw it and tried to stop him and an altercation happened. He went psycho and killed her. Whoever or whatever this person is and whatever his motives were, he is a vile, disgusting monster with no conscience.
Anyone who doesn't believe that Arlis became involved with Satanists has to account for the claims that Arlis and her girlfriend traveled to Mandan, North Dakota and met Satanists there, and you have to account for Brian McCracken's sighting, and you have to account for the unidentified young man at her workplace and at the church on the night of the murder. And you have to account for the fact that the grave/tombstone of Arlis was vandalized back in her native North Dakota. Only the grave of Arlis was vandalized. That doesn't sound like any coincidence to me. Now why would her grave be vandalized? Isn't that suspicious? This should raise alarm bells.
Crawford may have known who the real killer was, and he may have known who the unidentified young man was who entered the church on the night of the murder. But we the readers don't know. So much still remains a mystery. An unidentified young man at her workplace arguing with her; an unidentified young man seen entering the church on the night of the murder, and according to the latest report, an unidentified young man seen at her funeral. Is this three different people, or two different people, or one and the same person? So it's possible that people saw the killer of Arlis and didn't know it. Satanic ritual abuse was common in the 1970s.

I'm inclined to agree with you here. I sincerely doubt Crawford was more than just a peripheral pawn in this macabre story. First, I don't believe that Crawford, on his own, could have arranged & carried out the murder of Arlis Perry on his own..it was entirely too detailed and required carrying dead weight doing unspeakable things to her before and after she died. Crawford just does NOT come across this way AT ALL...very passive & not at all threatening, from what I've gleaned from his personality. I absolutely believe that Arlis got involved or tangled up in something with possibly trying to convert Satanists to Christianity in N. Dakota and they followed her to Stanford. I'm convinced that she either heard or saw something that happened she wasn't supposed to and she needed to neutralized. Whomever they sent to Stanford to deal with the issue of Arlis is anyone's best guess...I'm more inclined to think it was Bill Mentzer (Maury Terry's Ultimate Evil seems to explain this theory well..) who took care of Arlis in the church (Mentzer is big & muscular!) and that the person who met Arlis @ her office is a possible 3rd person. I also find it difficult to believe that Crawford was the genius who masterminded the dummy phone number for a second "Bruce D. Perry" of Palo Alto,CA..he didn't strike me as that quick & inventive..jmo..more of a follower than a leader. To my mind, there were SO many aspects of this murder & this case, in general, that could have gone SO wrong if the right thing happened at the wrong time and vice versa that there were multiple people involved. I was really kind of floored that they have officially closed the case now that Crawford added some lead to his diet..totally irresponsible of them...but convenient nonethless..they have someone they can pin the crime on and that's that...except it's NOT! And they KNOW that!!

William Mentzer, known as Manson 2, is rumoured to have been involved with the Charles Manson gang. He's a Satanist, serial killer, and a very scary dude. Some say he is Manson 2, and some say Manson 2 is a guy named Phil Benson. There could be more than one person called Manson 2. Did he kill Arlis in the church? Was he the unidentified young man seen entering the church on the night of the murder? Was he the guy who came and argued with her at her workplace? Was he the guy seen at her funeral? We don't know. I have seen his pictures and while his age, height, and build match that of these three suspects, his hair does not. The unidentified young man at her workplace was described as having curly, sandly, blonde hair while Mentzer has straight, darkish hair. The unknown man seen entering the church on the night of the murder is described as having brown hair. But since this was at night and it was dark it would be difficult to get a good view of him. So what was Mentzer"s physical appearance, hair texture, and hair color like in 1974? Where was he and what was he doing in October 1974? Mentzer is in jail for other crimes. He may or may not have killed Arlis. We don't know. Yes a bad guy but maybe not that bad. There's a difference between being a bad guy and being the actual bad guy who killed Arlis. No we don't know who the real killer is, and likely will never know. This case is forever going to be a mystery.

The nature and origin of evil has preoccupied my mind for years. The Arlis Perry murder is Moral evil or Human evil with a little bit of Supernatural evil in it. But it's Natural evil and the suffering and death from Nature that I find to be the most puzzling and most disturbing. Has anyone seen what the larvae of the Screw worm fly does to it's victims? It's like something out of a horror movie. What kind of vile, repulsive degenerate, demented demon created this monstrosity? It looks evil and it does evil.
I'm terrified of going into oceans, lakes, and rivers not only because of drowning and hypothermia, but because monstrous horrors such as jellyfish, stonefish, sharks, octopus, squid, and lake serpents and sea serpents exist. The fear of being grabbed and torn apart and eaten by a shark, or a lake serpents, or a sea serpent is paralyzing. A woman named Sharon Novak was shown on Lost Tapes on a boat who fell in the ocean and was attacked by a huge animal with a long neck. That's unmistakably some kind of living Plesiosaur. It's believed the animal killed and ate her.
I have seen photos of spiders and every now and then, there appears an individual photo showing a spider with a human like face on its body. The horrific Brazilian Wandering spider is a very cranky arachnid. I have seen a photo of one that has a strange demonic looking face and eyes. I swear this specimen has two horn like markings on its face that look like the horns of a demon and an evil looking face. Pure malevolence.
Has anyone ever studied what early earth was like in the Precambrian era? Well, 2.5 billion to 4.6 billion years ago planet Earth's atmosphere, climate, and landscape was as brutal as Mercury, Venus, and Mars. It was anaerobic, toxic, with boiling mud pools, methane, ammonia, and sulfur, and the planet was continually pelted with meteors from space. There was no oxygen, and it was thousands of degrees hot. This hellish inferno was how planet Earth began, a suffocating, unbreathable hell. A human would suffocate, asphyxiate, and incinerate to death in seconds. Yes Nature is cruel, scary, and dangerous.
Probably the most horrific fate that can happen to a human is to be buried alive inside a coffin, crypt, vault, a hole in the ground, a crawlspace, a chimney, a closet, a small attic, a small cellar, a bomb shelther, or any enclosed space. Taphophobia is fear of being buried alive. Suffocation and claustrophobia are horrifying beyond imagining, a fate worse than death. It's unbearable torture. This just might be the worst form of suffering, and that's saying something in a world that's filled with many kinds of suffering. Both people and animals have been buried alive in the past. Let's pray it NEVER happens again.
Witness the proliferation of horror novels and horror movies. The Shining, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Exorcist, Legion, Halloween and it's sequels, Friday the 13th and it's sequels, The Human Centipede are just a few out of thousands of titles. All are disgusting.
Is Satan to blame for every kind of evil? Some say yes and others say no. Some say Satan isn't evil, or is not as evil as we think he is. Maybe Satan is both good and evil with a Jekyll and Hyde personality. Did Satan create centipedes and diseases? Some say yes and others say no. Some say that Satan cannot create anything. Satan in the Bible is better known as liar, tempter, and deceiver. Only in Job does Satan inflict physical torture, killing, and death. So the mystery and origin of evil is unknown and unaccounted for. We still don't know why the world is such a nightmarish place and we still don't know why people and animals suffer day in and day out, year in and year out.
North Dakota is a hotspot for Satanism, as is New York, California, Florida, Texas, Michigan, France, and Italy. Evil of all kinds abounds in the world.

The million dollar question is this: in what ways are the Devil, Satan, and demons evil? Do they create or cause Natural evils such as cancer, Brazilian Wandering spiders, jellyfish, centipedes, sharks, crocodiles, screw worm flies, mosquitoes, ticks, malaria, Ebola, aneurysm, stroke, heart disease, tooth decay, mold, mildew, hurricanes, tsunamis? Nature has a cruel, violent, malevolent, dangerous, repulsive side, and millions of years of suffering, death, and extinctions are caused from Nature. Diseases are the worst forms of cruelty which Nature inflicts on its creation.
There is no Biblical evidence for the Devil, Satan, and demons creating or causing Natural evils. Author Gregory Boyd thinks that these evil Supernatural beings are to blame for all Natural evils. But aside from the book of Job, there's no other book in the Bible that says that Satan and demons are in any way responsible for Natural evils. We don't really know who or what created Natural evils. Some say that Satan and demons cannot create anything, so no they did not create centipedes and they did not create diseases.
Author C.S. Lewis thinks that while Satan and demons didn't create any Natural evils, they did change or corrupt things which already exist. In other words, according to this theory, God's original creation was good and a paradise until Satan and demons entered the picture and ruined it. Centipedes and mosquitoes may have originally been peaceful herbivores UNTIL Satan and demons changed and corrupted them by turning them into venomous predators and into disease carrying parasites. So according to this theory, Satan and demons have the power to change and corrupt but cannot create anything from scratch. This corruption of Nature must have happened millions to billions of years ago in the prehistoric, pre-human world. This would be eons before the sin of Adam and Eve, and eons before humanity appeared. It's interesting but there's no Biblical evidence for this theory.
Do Satan and demons cause Moral evil or Human evil/sin? Alot of people say yes and some say no. We don't really know. Human beings are evil on their own without any Satan or demon to corrupt them.
It seems to me that Satan and demons are evil in the following ways: they like to tempt, deceive, and confuse people and they are intent on damning souls. And they possess people. Demonic possession is one of the ways they inflict evil. Vile, gross, disgusting, repulsive, degenerate behavior are the symptoms of demonic possession.
EA, Enki, Lucifer, Baphomet, Angra-mainyu/Ahriman, Set, Apollyon, Typhon, Mastema, Malek-Taus,Saturn,Baal, Moloch, and Satan are all different names for the Devil.

Arlis met an unknown man who was neither her husband Bruce nor Crawford at he workplace, and had a heated discussion with him. A witness thought this individual was Bruce, until he later encountered the real Bruce.

Later that evening Arlis started a stupid argument with Bruce over the tyre pressures of their car, if all things. This may have been done as a ruse so that she could go out alone to walk it off… when in fact she’d arranged to rendezvous with the mystery man.

Crawford may well have masturbated in the church at some point and ejaculated into a prayer cushion, but that doesn’t make him the murderer. Crawford may either have admitted the mystery man into the church, or been oblivious to his presence. Given the intricate nature of the crime scene it does not appear to have been a random opportunistic killing, but rather than Arlis was lured there.

It could be that the mystery man was someone Arlis knew from North Dakota.

Peter, I too subscribe to everything that Alex has posted. I came to the same conclusions on my own and feel validated to find that others see it the same way. There’s one detail that I can find no information which is whether Stephen Crawford was left handed. By the position of the ice pick wound, it almost certainly was done by a left handed assailant from behind. If Stephen Crawford was not left handed, this would rule him out as the murderer.
