Victim Asks Judge to Drop Sexual Assault Case Against Fugitive Director Roman Polanski
Samantha Geimer, 13 at the time of the crime, has long supported Roman Polanski's efforts to end the legal saga

Roman Polanski won't take his chances
to return to court to resolve his sexual assault case, so his victim is
standing up for him.
Samantha
Geimer, who was 13 at the time of the crime, was in a Los Angeles
courtroom to appeal directly to a judge Friday to end the long-running
case. Geimer, 54, has long supported Polanski's efforts to end the legal
saga that limits his freedom, but Friday will was the first time she's
appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court on his behalf, attorney Harland
Braun said.
"She's tired of this case," Braun said. "The judge is just playing games with him."
The judge said he will issue a written ruling, but he didn't indicate when.
Geimer spoke about the crime, the decades-long legal process and her motivation for stepping forward outside the courtroom.
"It
wasn't as traumatic for me as everyone would like to believe it is,"
Geimer said Friday outside the courtroom. "I understood much worse
things happen to people. I just was not as traumatized as people think I
should have been.
"This is the
first opportunity I've had to come to court and talk, so I figure I'd
take it because I thought it would be my last.
Geimer
told reporters she has "empathy" for Polanski, noting that he is now
facing the same type of insults she endured in the early days of the
1977 unlawful intercourse case.
"It
was a much different story -- I was a drug-dealing Lolita that cornered
him into this, and I was lying and I made it all up -- so that's what I
dealt with," Geimer said.
"Now he endures it, because now everyone
calls him a pedophile and says terrible things about him which aren't
true. The insults have switched, but I have empathy for the way he was
treated because I was treated the same way when this first happened."
On her way into court, she told reporter she was "terrified."
I personally think that Roman should be "drawn and quartered" for his assault on a young girl. It's despicable. For him to sexually target a young girl like that makes him the lowest of the dung on EARTH.
But unfortunately, although they don't usually name the victims publicly, they named Geimer in this mess, and now every time Polanski's name is mentioned in this horrible assault, so is Geimer's.
She's got her life now, she's a wife and mother, and she doesn't want this to keep coming up every few years. I can't blame her!
The courts can't punish Polanski, so the liberal media just keeps beating a dead horse.
I hope Samantha finally finds peace in all this. Polanski RUINED HER LIFE!!! LITERALLY!
Maybe Polanski will become Hitler's love slave for eternity...That would be a fitting end...

She says it hasn't been ruined at all and that it would appear that other people are far more affected by it than she ever has been. I'm prepared to hear her on this. But in a way, she is almost irrelevant to the saga now. Punishment for crimes is not simply about the perpetrator and the victim. Even if the victim forgives and gets on with their own life, there's the societal dimension and the children that need to be protected and part of their protection is in dealing with people who put all children at risk if they are perceived to get away with this kind of crime. Samantha Geimer isn't thinking about the other thousands of sexually abused children that possibly wince every time this story comes up and it's out there for all to see that a man who sexually abused a child escapes justice. So in a way, her view doesn't really matter in the overall picture.
I think that she signed a contract when she was paid off by Polanski and it stated she has to be positive about him publically. Who knows how she really feels.
I agree with Beauders on that point. Hate to say that perhaps she is looking for more for going above and beyond the deal. I also agree the guy was a pedafile and some sort of sex addict.
I have a hunch Polanski offered her some money, she says "hes not a pedophile" after he slips her some quaaludes and pumps her asshole whole shes passed out at age 13? If thats not pedophilia what is? I dont understand why Roman would even want to come back here at age 84 anyway because France will never extradite him especially at his age
Hey Grim are you out there, I'm concerned because of the fire

Grim, Are you okay?
Hi guys, yeah, I'm OK. London seems to be going through it at the moment. You know, I saw the fire from a distance while it was raging. Around 4.40am as I was driving my deliveries into the centre of London, I was coming down this hill and because of the way it dips into a kind of valley, one is forced to look up at a certain point and in the distance I could see this smoke. At first I thought it was a cloud then it struck me that it was smoke but it wasn't until just after 5am when I tuned into the news that I discovered what was going on. I know the area really well and when I'm coming out of the centre of London on the A40, one goes right by it. It looks horrendous but one is compelled to look. It's set among an array of tower blocks that are just as high. They all look bright and clean. Grenfell Towers sticks out like you'd never believe. I had a delivery down there yesterday so I drove right up to the road next to it. There were people there taking photos but I could understand that. On the side facing the road, from about floors 8 or 9 up, all one sees is a burned out shell of a place but the first 7 or 8 floors look so normal, one can see all the clean curtains and ornaments in the windows. It's surreal, especially knowing that there are still dead bodies in there. I heard an inspector of some sort today saying that where families huddled together and burned to death, they were fused by tissue and such like and joined together in such a way that they can't identify who is who is what. I've been in so many high rise buildings lately {we're not truly experienced in skyscrapers like you guys. 10 floors to us is high !} and I keep on wondering what I'd do if I was trapped so high up. I just couldn't jump. I would hope the smoke fumes would knock me out before the heat really got to me. They reckon it was the cladding that was on the outside of the building that caused it to go up like a roman candle. Since last week, 95 tower blocks up and down England have been tested and every single one has failed the safety tests. Sorry for the off topic diversion.

Especially if he had escaped justice when he was caught.

Grim, she sounds like she has "Stockholm Syndrome". She's having sympathy for the abuser.

I dont know about the drawing and quartering but he definitely should have served time, what he did is repulsive and evil
I agree
I wonder if Roman molested other children that haven't spoken out for some reason. Maybe they were paid off, or maybe they don't exist.

Lets just say i dont think thats the type of behavoir you just wake up with one day at age 44, im sure she wasnt the first
