Robert Hendrickson has Died

I just learned of the passing of Robert Hendrickson.  I didn't know the man personally, but I wanted to give our heart-felt condolences to his friends and family.  He had some ground-breaking award-winning films about the Manson saga, and he has been commended for those films.

Our hearts go out to those who mourn him, but death is only the beginning of a new life...

R.I.P. Mr. Hendrickson!

My deepest sympathies, to his family and friends.

His documentary remains the only TLB movie, which features actual Manson Family members.

On various sites people used to knock him and call him names and I would point out to them that he made himself available and in our situation, that was pretty invaluable. I had a lot of banter with Robert and I really enjoyed his upfront honesty of presence. He didn't play the know all or the cool star or the hot shot film maker, which he could have done and was amazingly open to other people's insights, people that didn't have the first hand knowledge and experience of the Family and Vincent Bugliosi that he had had. He wasn't beyond taking on board people's insights. I liked Vince Bugliosi, but one could never get him to accept any different views of the Family other than ones he had arrived at. Whenever I saw him on TV, if anyone ever had something to say that ran away from what he wanted people to catch, he would be strong in his dismissal of their point. Robert Hendrickson wasn't like that. Yes, he was often cryptic but that was Robert. In life, I try to take people as they are and try to dance with them on that level, if they'll dance too.
Robert danced.
