Rolling Stone Magazine to feature Manson in next issue?

MansonDirect.com answered (the following question) in their November 1st update:
Is Charles Manson the subject of a new Rolling Stone article?

Yes.  It is scheduled to be featured in the year-end double issue of Rolling Stone magazine (December-January 2013).  It will be a story-style article from the author's perspective, featuring conversational interviews with Charlie and his friends.  In an extremely rare event, the author did meet with CM during a regular weekend visit in September.

Apparently, the Manson Direct website was updated yesterday, November 11, 2013. Charles Manson turned 79 years old.

Thanks Chris!

any idea who the writer would be? that Charlie would deem to meet with him/her is intriguing enough. And of course who 'the friends' are that were also interviewed. If it is just Star and Grey Wolf that is going to be a big letdown.

Apparently, this isn't the first time Charles Manson was interviewed for Rolling Stone magazine. He appeared on the cover of the June 15, 1970 issue. That issue is apparently pretty rare, I could only find one copy online for sale, it was signed by Manson with some other writing and doodles on it, I think the guy wanted 6 grand for it.

One website says about the 1970 interview "Rolling Stone won a National Magazine Award for its exclusive 1970 prison interview with Charles Manson. Writer David Dalton said that Manson talked to RS over the newspapers because he wanted his album plugged."

Apparently, Manson might have talked to Michaelsbackporch about the recent Rolling Stone mag interview on the telephone, vid HERE. The vid was uploaded in July.

Yes, $6,004, by it now HERE.

Also, there seems to be some drama on some type of blog about the recent release of Manson's "Lost Vacaville Tapes". Someone must have apparently downloaded them illegally, you can read about it HERE.

$6,004 for that magazine? Why not $6,003 or $6,005? LOL.

Patty, who is messing with you? And who is this Noel person???

I'm confused....

A vid by "Stoner Van Houten" about the recent Manson album and the booklet that comes with it can be seen HERE.

I'm guessing someone has uploaded the album to the internet, piracy is nothing new. "Stealing" Charles Manson's music in the past has been problematic.

I got a copy of Rolling Stone for 60 bucks online two months ago....

Noel might make a good thread. shes been a Manson internet troll for 10 years, Patty learned this week. no sense pissing her off though, peace n love is so much nicer. DYING over here for RS to come out! whats it gonna say?

sunset...thats quite a find. more words than Patty has ever heard Stoner say: he has this hilarious Silent Bobness about him most of the time. But he writes in all caps! Patty loves her some Stoner.

I'm with you Patty, it should be fun. But realistically, what can it say? Do we really expect anything groundbreaking? I think if there was we would have heard a teaser by now.
Allot depends on the writer obviously. I suspect Charlie granted the interview because of his awareness of how much his being on the RS cover elevated him to iconic status, even it if was for evilness. If nothing else it will be interesting to see which Charlie showed up for the interview - the goofy one, the angry one, the vengeful one, etc.
My hope is that the interviewer gets Charlie to talk not about the crimes per se, but about the Family and what they meant to him and if they all still mean something to him. Does he consider himself friends with any of them today. What would he say, for instance, if Stephanie or Mary came to visit him today. what does he think of Grogan being free all these years and so on.
I just hope it is more than dime story psychoanalysis and a few quotes from Star and Grey Wolf. That would be disappointing.

Off topic comment:

Joseph Paul Franklin was executed this morning in Missouri. He was an extreme racist, claimed to have killed up to 20 people. Apparently, he's the person that paralyzed Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt, he also admitted to shooting and wounding civil rights leader Vernon Jordan. News story HERE.

A brief vid of Franklin is HERE.
