Semi-Retirement and Restructuring

Well folks… I’m semi-retiring.

I have several new responsibilities, concerns and duties in my personal life, which I cannot ignore.  In short, my personal life is much more complex now, than it was 3 years ago (when I opened the blog).  I can no longer justify, investing huge amounts of time, on this hobby.  Beyond that… I’m simply exhausted from this blog nonsense.  I need a break.  Going forward, Kimchi is the boss.

I’ll still check the blog daily… and I’ll offer a quip, quote, joke or commentary, when I have some free time to kill.  I may even post the occasional thread, if a topic really grabs me.  The "thread hall of fame" will certainly continue... because giving contributors credit for their submissions, has always been a priority.  Lastly, I'll continue to intervene, if/when someone is behaving like a complete ass (in the comments section).  But beyond that, I’m taking a back seat.  I may return full-time at some point… but, it won’t be any time soon.

THE NEW MAIL POLICY:

I've fallen WAY behind with several blog duties… but most especially, the incoming mail and thread submissions  In fact, in recent months… I’ve completely ignored most of the blog’s incoming mail (due to time constraints).   This situation is just not fair to our contributors... or, our readers.

As a consequence, the blog has lost many reliable thread contributors.  Heck… I can't blame them.  If I submitted 3 or 4 good thread ideas to a blog administrator, and my threads were never posted… and furthermore… I never received a return email... I'd discontinue communications, as well.

In a nutshell… things have to change.  Hence, this current restructuring.

In retrospect… I should have updated my mail system, a year ago.  Unfortunately, I tried to maintain the mailbag reigns, for as long as possible... and it backfired.  Live and learn.  As I said... I pissed-off a lot of good folks by not responding to their communications... and, it's perfectly understandable.

OK… enough back-story.

THE NEW SYSTEM:

Kimchi and Sunset are now in-charge of all LSB3 mail.  If you have a thread submission, comment, question or suggestion… hit them up.  They’re both very reliable and capable folks.  This new system will prove efficient.  Blog mail will be opened in a timely manner, and threads will be posted quickly.

Here’s their contact info:

kimchi557@hotmail.com
sunset777@gmx.com (yes, there’s an extra seven)

Their contact information is also posted prominently in the sidebar.

This new system will prove beneficial to everyone concerned… both contributors and readers alike.  Please join me in thanking Kimchi and Sunset in advance, for their help and efforts.

My sincere apologies to anyone whose email messages went unanswered over the last year.  My bad.

Peace! LS

Thanx for creating this blog Lynyrd, and Katie also for that matter. I never really expected to be involved in the "running" of it. I don't know how long or how well I'll be able to remain involved.

If anyone has any stories, pix, or info they want posted on here, I can probably do that one way or another. That contact address listed for me is a new e-mail address, if I don't check it quick enough, post a message in the comments and if I'm able, I'll check. I have computer glitches and a real life like most other people.

I've been on these blogs long enough now to know that people don't always agree. This is a good blog though, that's why I haven't left. I don't agree with many of the things that are said here, I simply try to ignore it and move on.

Anyway, there is a new post on CieloDrive dot com, it has some police reports involving the murder of Gary Hinman. I haven't read it all, but it's been pretty interesting. It describes Hinman's VW bus as being 2 colored, white over maroon with a "thunderbird" painted on the side if I understand it correctly.

yeah circumstance, I'm gonna get right on the 14 font and blue, it's all I can do to find the damn e-mail box and get it to open.

I tried about 10 different e-mail services to get the username sunset 77, they all said "username not available",. I forgot about that, sunset with three 7's for my e-mail.

I'll be offline for the rest of the night, I don't know what time it is where any of you are, but it's beer thirty here.

Kimchi is on the road today.

When she returns, I'll expect a formal acceptance speech. LOL

Example:
"I'd like to start by thanking the academy... and most of all, my mentor Lynyrd, for his patience and guidance these last three years... etc, etc."

LOL

Saint,

Speaking of retirement and beaches...

I should have used that photo of you, with your feet up, on the dinner cruise. LOL!

The last photo on this thread:

Sunset will do fine...I'm not a talker...except when it comes to the Hinman files at Cielo.com...lol

I did read those... while I was gone.

And this is a new email for me too, I'll try and check it often...

Oh lord, dejavue I recently semi retired and made a very bad investment and lost all my savings and now back at work doing the same thing I was already sick of. Moral of the story is Lynard, don't be a dumb ass like me and watch your spending. Good luck to you and have some fun for the rest of us working stiffs.

LynyrdSkynyrdBand said...

Thank You Nonbeliever.

Best of luck with your future investments.

I've been reading the Hinman files on Cielodrive. (I've also drank some beers).

Hinman's bus is described as being red and white or maroon and white, 1958, with a "thunderbird" or "eagle" painted on the side.

"On 10-8-69, LOUIS JOHN PUHECK was arrested driving the victim's 1958 Volkswagen bus, PGE 388, Mr. Puheck was advised of his Constitutional rights which he waived. He stated in the middle of August, 1969, he met a Mark Bloodworth (a.k.a. MARK AARONSON) and paid him $350 in cash for the above vehicle. Mr. Puheck further related S/Aaronson gave him the the pink slip signed by the victim and told him he hadn't changed the registration."

It seems to me, that a "Marcus Arneson" testified that Manson tried to give him both of Hinman's vehicles, the Fiat and the VW. The names "Mark" Arneson" and "Mark Aaronson" are very similar.

I've seen pix on some websites of a VW van lying in the woods with a UCLA parking sticker, some people thought might be Hinman's. Considering the police probably recovered that vehicle, the one in the woods probably isn't Hinman's.

I tried, but I can't find a very good pic of a 1958 micro bus, maroon and white. A vid of a '58 VW van, painted a single color is HERE.

Lynyrd, Thanks for providing such a great site for like minded individuals to learn and discuss. Your blog has always been informative, entertaining and relatively drama free. Much appreciation for all the time and effort that you put into it.

Thank You Jeffrey!

You've done a great job Lynyrd. Now, in 10 minutes we all get to watch Sonny Gray shut out the Tigers, then watch Tomas Hertl score more goals than all of Vancouver......

Kimchi & Sunset,

Very cool, you two are all ready great at this. We are very fortunate to have you. Thanks for taking on for Lynyrd.

Thank you Bobby, but nobody can fill Lynyrd's shoes...

LynyrdSkynyrdBand said...

Thank You Bob.

It's been an absolute pleasure knowing you, since day one.
You're "top shelf", in every regard.

sunset77 said...

Thanx Bobby. I'm kind of a "come lately" to this blog. Most of the regulars were here long before I was. I guess things change in the TLB world. With the Brian Davis show gone, there is no Brian, LC, bomb, Chris, JohnnySeattle, Paulina, and many others.

I don't know how long I'll be able to stay online and follow this case, but as long as I'm able, I'll probably be here, one way or another.

Lynyrd, you'll be missed.

As for me, I always have ideas for threads, just not the time to do them right now due to many "issues" which I won't bore you with....except for one. I was in a car accident (not my fault)and I'm miserable at the moment due to being so stiff and sore.

Will be more active here ASAP.

LynyrdSkynyrdBand said...

I'm sorry to hear about your car accident Venus.

Here's wishing you a speedy recovery.

Thanks Lynyrd! Please stay in touch!
