Actually, I spent a couple of hours trying to track down this rumor last night myself. I think where it may have originated from is the "Globe" tabloid. A pic of what I guess is this months cover of "The Globe" can be seen HERE.
I haven't purchased the magazine, nor do I intend to. I haven't read the story, but I know from past experience that info in tabloids can be misleading.
I didn't purchase the tabloid, but did briefly look at the story while in line at the grocery store. This is not new news. It's all about his attack in the 1980's, complete with photos.
I'm glad Brian cleared this up. No matter how strange it sounds it never-the-less is possible that Charlie could get firedoused again. I say that because I had an uncle who married 3 times and all three wives shot him. Boy did he have bad taste in women. He died of cancer most likely from lead poisoning.

Hey Mr P., I sure hope at some point during one of those Wedding Parties one of his relatives thought about getting your Uncle a Bullet Proof Vest...
Hey guys, sorry for this, it's off topic, but did anyone see that great show last night on PBS called Uncovering Shakespeare? I've never been a huge Billy Shakes fan but this one had Ethan Hawke talking about playing Macbeth. What freaked me out a bit was learning that Polanski directed a Macbeth film in 1971, just a couple of years after the murders. I know it sounds ludicrous to talk about Shakespeare and Chucky together, but Macbeth really does have similar themes to TLB - power and aggression, the evolution of nihilistic beliefs cojoined with remorseless murder and so on. And of course...the witches. Even if you are not a Shakespeare fan you will enjoy the show. It gets ya thinkin.

Oh, I just noticed that Sunset also mentioned the link. You can see the cover of the tabloid.
Was Manson even at Corcoran when he was set on fire? I thought he was somewhere else.

My uncle ran a bar in Myrtle Beach where all the licquor sold was moonshine. The sheriff was paid off.
That kind of setup could not happen today.
