I wonder why this is being released on vinyl?

I mean... I like vinyl and all... but, why (in 2012) are they not selling this on CD?

Just wondering...

Thanks St.!!! Good find!

But you couldn't pay me to listen to that catterwallin' nonsense. LOL.

The "Beauty Is Pain boutique", sounds like a place where you can listen to Manson's gobble-de-gook while you're getting your hair ripped out like on 40 Year Old Virgin. HA HA.

Okay, I'll stop. :)

Apparently, there is an entire group of people that follow Manson's music.

Manson was released from Terminal Island on Mar. 21, 1967. He spent much of his time trying to break into the music business. On Sept. 11, 1967 he recorded an 18 track, 44 minute demo at Gold Star Recording Studios in Los Angeles. The songs have been re-shuffled a number of times on various albums, they can be found by looking for "The Summer of Hate Sessions-1967". Speculation exists as whether or not Terry Melcher and/or Brian Wilson can be heard speaking on some of the tracks. Apparently, 2/3 of the original recordings have never been heard, they may have been destroyed.

1 song from that album can be heard here here. At the end Manson can be heard speaking with what I assume is the sound engineer, I'm not familiar enough with the voice of either Melcher or Wilson to recognize if it's either of them

I got an old Manson CD somewhere - he talks through 60% of it , and he plays a version of look at your game girl you can barely understated...

But there is one part on it where you can hear him talking and laughing and he sounds very young

I cant help but think there were a couple of times when it may have actually been fun to hang out with him in certain situations very early on...

I enjoy mixing it up with all types of people in life. I was never down with total losers- but I spent a few hours on the smoking porch in high school. I walked into the woods with the burnouts one or two times during 7'th period. I hung out in the backyard near the picnic table with the flannel shirt crowd at a few parties....

I couldn't have lasted long at Spahn though...

cant have horse shit near my shoes

Has everybody heard the Starcity podcst where one guest who writes says Charlie has a fulltime lady secretary who lives in either NC or SC whom handles all is mail? She is paid.

I wonder if Caset Anthony has a paid secretary yet? Casey cares about the animals, clean water and the environment you know? She's also fun to party wtth and she's good in bed.

Not interested in hearing this. Sorry.

And Katie,

I finally heard you on starcity radio. Great job!

If it wouldn't be in such poor taste- I would send some money just to see if this is a scam or what :

Contributors to the Kickstarter campaign were given the chance to have their names associated with Manson's music. Those who donated enough to the project will have their names included on the album's liner notes and will receive a piece of artwork crafted by Manson himself....

But It isn't worth getting associated with that mess....

True story...

A girlfriend I once had thought it would impress me if she sent a letter to Charlie and get a return letter from him... she mailed it from my address so if he replied it would come to me...

Sending mail to a federal prisoner like him surely got me put on a watch list lol....

and I dont want to be watched- but it has nothing to do with Charlie

:)

Hey by the way- he ignored me lol

Rude bastid

first and last time I told anyone about this interest of mine...

people cant understand my interest in the case does not make me a fan of Charlie...

I used to say LULU was my favorite n Col's blog- but people took that literally as well...

Guess one must be careful

nobody ever assumed I wanted to join Scientology :)

Speaking of Music- I posted this before but you guys changed the post subject within an hour so not sure if anyone saw this ...

I was googling this song a few months back because its killer and I loved it in high school when i clicked on the video I noticed the band made some comments about filming the video. Check it out:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRy9RLcoaSk

The video was made right over the hill from Spahn Ranch. If you have sen enough pictures the background in the video will look very familiar. The band commented about making this :

" They put us with a director who wouldn't give us any input or listen to shit we said. The models wouldn't talk to scum like us, but we were right next to where the Manson family lived and bonanza was filmed so we had that going for us. live and learn"

The band is junkyard and the Song is called Simple Man- and it rocks for an 80's metal song lol

katie8753 said...

I saw that St. Cool beans. Thanks!

MrPoirot said...

St Circumstance I watched your heavy metal youtube. That movie set is/was definantly kept up and maintained compared to Spahn Ranch. I know that George Spahn never kept up his movie ranch after he bought it in 1948. It wasn't just the fact that cowboy flicks had declined in American cinema that caused all the dropoff in filming at Spahn Ranch. The ranch's delapidated state made it less desirable as a film site even though it was within the 35 mile area around Hollywood where unions did not require extra pay for actors and set employees. All movie sights beyound 35 miles of Hollywood were more expensive to film at yet still the studios chose to pay the extra cost and shoot outside the 35 mile range or they chose other ranches within 35 miles that were better maintained.

Matt put a new thread on his blog. It's really impressive what he did. He must have spent a lot of time on it. My hat's off to him.

But...I don't agree with a lot of what he's intimating. LOL. I'll post here because he'll probably delete it there.

Rosemary didn't cause Leno's gambling addiction. Anyone who knows anything about addiction knows that it doesn't start with a second marriage and it doesn't start with one person. It's a deep, dark problem that started long before. I'll bet you that his addiction to gambling started long before he married Rosemary.

And as Carol pointed out, Rosemary's last words on this good green earth were concern about her husband being killed. Pat even mentioned it later. So I don't really think that she was just using him.

As far as Suzan is concerned, I've posted for years that I thought she might have had something to do with the murders of Leno & Rosemary. As despicable as it may sound, I think she was a bloodthirsty vamp who would do anything for money. Even kill her own mother.

There's no evidence that Dorgan was in a motorcycle gang. Starship pointed this out to me a long time ago, and he's right.

And there's no evidence that Charlie made a phone call. Again Starship, and he's right.

I'll agree that this family was very "dysfunctional" but to "allow" that that's why they were killed is a little presumptuous.

And also thanks to Revatron. This dude is pretty smart!!

BTW Johnny, this thread is alleging that it was Suzan that emptied the safe at Gateway....not Rosemary....what's up with that?

Food for thought! :)

katie8753 said...

Also, the blurb in Restless Souls about Suzan highjacking Patti's daughter for a coup to get Tex out of jail is nonsense. This book is not factual at all.....

There's a lot to be learned on this case and we seem to be grasping at straws. Anytime someone comes up with new ideas, they can always be shot down.

Matt I applaud you for this effort on this thread.

I'm really interested in the letters you cite between Leno & his family about being afraid and this is "his last chance". I'd love to see where you got those. That's interesting stuff.

the idea that suzan laberge had her parents murdered and was responsible for the safe being emptied was bill nelson. please consider the source.

Beauders please expound!!! What about these letters that Leno wrote??? Do you know anyting about that?

I found a bit more info about the latest Manson album if anyone is interested, on a website called "Discogs".

Apparently, Manuel Otto Vasquez runs a boutique called "Beauty is Pain" and he produces records and sells them in his shop to make extra money. He is currently receiving hate mail for his latest production.

The title of the album is "Charles Manson ‎– Just Fucking Around"

Discogs says: "Limited to 500 copies.
"Recorded by Charles Milles Manson in the chapel at Vacaville Medical Facility in the middle 1980's.
Original tape sent to T.J Walleman and Ansom 13.
Art and Photos from the collections of Michael Channels, Grat Wolf, Jon Aes-Nihil, and Records Ad Nauseam"

(my guess is "Grat Wolf" is "Grey Wolf".

katie8753 said...

Beauders, do you think Tex & Rosemary emptied the safe the night of the murders? Rosemary in her nightgown with a dress over it? Was that the right way to go out on the town back in August of 1969? HA HA

MrPoirot said...

beauders said...

Poirot repies:

Nobody but crazy Bill Nelson would claim Suzan had a hand in murdering her own mother and emptying the safe at her Dad's store. That would be as crazy as claiming Suzan went to one of Tex's parole hearings and pleaded for her mother's killer to be released.

Hey MON lol

It isn't my video- I just put the link up there with the quote from the band... it didnt- and I didnt say it was filmed AT the ranch. It said and I said it was filmed " over the hill" near the ranch- and it looks like the area to me...

but if it not- I stand corrected

I just wanted to find something to post about that wasn't me :)

So peeps dont think I have a one track mind

Indeed an interesting string of ideas Matt put together- the idea that the victims have some how contributed to their own death seems somehow unfair. I have resisted going there myself.

But sooner or later we are going to have to turn some new stones or look at some new ideas or we are going to be spinning the same wheels forever...

This is one of a few reasons why Katies find is so important to me...

Proving Garretson knew Pat- would open some new doors and answer a few questions...

Could looking into Rosmeary's Private life do the same thing??

People dont seem to mind pointing out Jay and Voyteks bad habbits...

I used to get sick at the thought of doing that to any of them...

Have I been wrong? did it contribute in some way? does it have any relevance?

katie8753 said...

St. I think it's easy to "over think" this case. To attach significance to small things that normally would go unnoticed.

If Rosemary & Leno hadn't been murdered by the Manson Family, we wouldn't give a hoot about Rosemary's affairs or Leno's gambling habits.

I still have yet to be convinced that the killers knew the victims.

But that's just me....

Hey L/S- I know you have interest in Kesey and the Electric Kool Aid stuff...

I am friends with Zane Kesey on facebook. A buddy of mine moved out to Oregon to take a teaching job, and he lives about 30 miles from the farm out there where they live. He has just done another renovation on the bus, and they are taking to Portland for the Furthur Shows. They are holding modern day after parties after the shows and advertising asking people to bring microphones horns lights- whatever...

it seems the bus is about to roll again...

Here is his latest post :

Zane Kesey
NEEDED- Portland ACID TEST volunteers to "keep the loonies on the path"?
...contact nick to see where we need volunteers and sign up...I guarantee you will be "entertained"!

I wanted to go out there so badly- but my best friend is having his babies first birthday party that weekend, so I have to go to New Jersey and buy toys....

life huh?

LynyrdSkynyrdBand said...

Hey Saint!

Yeah...
"Acid Test" is one of the best books I've ever read... and consequently, the related subject matter has been a big hobby/interest of mine for years.

I'd love to go out there too... but, as you said... "life" often gets in the way of "living". LOL

FURTHER!

I've got just one question for ya Saint:

Are you on the bus, or off?!

: )

Anonymous said...

lol L/S my friend :)

Nothing in life would please me more than to drop it all and get right on that bus....

at 45 its not just a matter of me anymore...

But Mrs.C retires in 8 years and then we are going out west for sure...

if the bus is still in motion- Ill catch up with them then...

ya know Carolyn Garcia - Mountain Girl still loves out there as well. She is personally- to me- the one person who literally watched the torch being passed from the Beat Generation to the Hip one. she started with Kesey and had his child- then moved on to Jerry and did the whole Dead thing in its prime in the Haight...

form Cassidy and La Honda to The Acid tests and the dead in the park- she saw it all...

I would love to sit down with that lady... I have asked Zane to hook it up- but he cant and she wont- very private- and soo not impressed with a young preppy looking punk like me.

Just no accounting for some peoples taste

Hey Katie. ...

Those letters to and from Corrina are in Alice LaBiancas book "No More Tomorrow's"

Hey St, I'll be in the Portland area about that time....is there a website for the bus party or is it just on his Facebook page? I'd like to check that out

Anonymous said...

I am not sure if there is a website- you can get the info from his facebook page though....

Kimchi said...

Thanks St. I will try to find him.

katie8753 said...

Thanks Kimchi! I'm going to try to get a copy of that book. Sounds interesting!

katie8753 said...

Sanders claims that the LaBianca phone was bugged. Does anyone know anything about that?

The relationship between Suzan and Tex was extremely weird. We know for a fact that she went to his parole hearing to get him out. The "why" is conjecture. I'm not buying this "born again" crap they both keep spreading.

Even Doris was aghast at her trying to get her own mother's murderer out of prison. I don't think much of Suzan.

It's been said that they knew each other because they lived in apartments close to each other. I'm not so sure about that.

I've lived in apartments where people come and go. They might as well have a revolving door on the apartment. You know, it was just a nod and "hi, how ya doin'?" type thing. I never knew anyone's name, much less who their Step-Daddy was.

Kimchi said...

Yeah but we know Tex was dealing drugs at the time and maybe she was a customer?

Kimchi said...

Maybe not her but her acquaintances ....

katie8753 said...

>>>Kimchi said: Yeah but we know Tex was dealing drugs at the time and maybe she was a customer?>>>

Do you mean at the time they were living in adjacent apartments in 1969 or whatever year that was?

Kimchi said...

Katie I'm just speculating, but you made a comment about how they could possibly know each other...I was just thinking maybe because of his dealing....

Kimchi said...

I grew up in LA in that time period and even though I was a good girl we new where to score and where to find the "pusher man"....and who they were...and we kept our distance believe me.....

Kimchi said...

Yes in that time period ...or whenever they lived in those duplexes

katie8753 said...

Thanks Kimchi. You have a point there!

beauders said...

i have no idea what went on the night the labianca's were murdered. i just don't think suzan laberge had anything to do with the murders. why did she go to watsons parole hearing--she's crazy.

LynyrdSkynyrdBand said...

I agree Saint.

"Mountain Girl" was there for ALL of it.

She must have some insane stories to relate!

The way Tom Wolfe describes every nuance about "Mountain Girl" throughout his book... I'm sure many men developed a pseudo-crush on her, through the years. LOL!
