Hi Katie...

All you have to do is click the YouTube Icon in the lower right corner of the video... and it takes you right to the video on Youtube... and the rest is common sense.
That's goes for any video shared from YouTube.

But, I added a link to her site (in blue) anyway...

katie8753 said...

Okay thanks Lynyrd. You know I don't have any common sense. HA HA.

I'll check out her channel.

"Monkey Boy Sucks". "Abolish Work". "Free Bobby Beausoleil".

That's pretty good!!! LOL.

I was listening to a recording of Susan Atkins' voice on Missy's channel, and I'm reminded of what a "low talker" she was. When she starts talking, everyone in the room has to learn forward to hear what she's saying.

I can't help but wonder what the admonishment of "Look bitch, you're gonna die, and there's nothing you can do about it so get ready" sounded like in this mousey little voice.

I wonder if Sharon put her head closer to Sadie and said "Do What??""

HA HA.

LynyrdSkynyrdBand said...

Yeah...

One also has to wonder if those words were ever exchanged to begin with.

Susan strikes me as quite the exaggerator.

katie8753 said...

Lynyrd I know that Susan is an exaggerator, but I do think she said that.

She thought she was bad and all that. Even though she was just a scared little pushover.

But..she could be lying...just like Charlie lies and says that he told her "Bitch you just sent me back to jail".

I don't believe that he said that to her that night. I think he's lying about that, as well as everything else he recounts.

What Ive always hated about Manson's music is his lousy rythem on guitar. It lacks style. He knows a bunch of chords but there is no artistry in the guitar rythem. He strums in a weird disjointed manner.

MrPoirot said...

Concerning Sadie's voice: there are two voices she uses. She has a little girls voice and a bossy voice. If you scan through her youtube interviews you'll hear the two voices. The low talker voice is a put-on. she plays demure at times as if she has two personalities.

>>>Mr. P. said: The low talker voice is a put-on. she plays demure at times as if she has two personalities.>>>

Wow....thanks Mr. P.! I never knew that. The only voice I've heard from Sadie is the low talker.

Could she be a schizo? Hmmm.....

katie8753 said...

As far as Charlie's music goes, I think it all sucks.

But then...I'm not a guitar player, I'm a piano player. HA HA.

mattprokes said...

heres the little girl voice

MrPoirot said...

Charlie's music was a bit off time like a Japanese horror movie with English subtitles. Perhaps Charlie's allure was live only.

MrPoirot said...

BTW, does anyone know what kind of guitar Charlie played? I assume he played $10 used gutars made by Sears & Robuck.
If it's a cheap guitar all you can do is strum it. A good acoustic today runs $1800 and up. I don't think Charlie was ever exposed to good instruments. He learned on jailhouse crap. I'm sure he used any strings he could get including electrical wire on his guitars.
But then the Beatles started out using piano wire on the bass.

This song, "Hitchin a Ride" was released around Christmas 1969 but had a short lifetime on the charts because of the Manson Family and Hippies. Hitch hiking was very common until the TLB murders became known. The age of innocence ended just days after the TLB murders were solved.

Very nice version by Dando, Missy!

A song about the Family that never seems to get a mention is Lloyd Cole's "Holier Than Thou" (from the excellent CD, "Bad Vibes").

Thanks Lynyrd & Katie because I really need more YT nut cases sending me bizzare messages..only kidding..hahaha..I love everyone even the loons except not Monkey Boy..not ever.

So yeah Evan Dando...you can tell he genuinely likes this song and I agree its a good song...when he performs it live he typically has Manson family footage running on a screen in the background to set the mood and stuff....but please do not alert Hendrickson to this.

I totally agree with Matt, Evan is cool..he is underrated in terms of his musical ability and intellect. He is like a fabulous cross between Dennis Wilson and Neal Cassady...just out of his skull in the best possible way.

Mr. P., I loved that song Hitchin a Ride by Vanity Fare. It came out in the summer of 1970 where I live. I even bought the single. I think back then singles cost around $.50 or so. LOL.

katie8753 said...

Hi Cease! Lloyd Cole wrote that for the Family???

heres a manson related tune from a canadien band called klaatu.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3HoS2gMvno
from their third album sir army suit

oldtimers might remember this band from the 70s,they kept their identities secret on their first 3 albums and the rumor went around that they were the beatles reunited,i'll admit mr manson doesnt sound like the the beatles but check these out from their first album

smoked alot of weed listening to these guys on the headphones back in the late 70s!

fucked up that last link

damn 70s weed comes back to haunt me!

TomG said...

I remember 70's weed!

kind of.....

katie8753 said...

Matt, I've never heard of Klaatu. They do sound like the Beatles. Thanks for posting!

katie8753 said...

The only thing I remember about 70's weed is that if you went to a party, they passed a joint around, and if you didn't take a puff you were considered a sissy.

Back then, the cops could practically bust your door down and haul you off to the pokey on suspicion on smoking weed.

I was always scared to hang around pot smokers for that reason.

mattprokes said...

you would'nt have been hanging around me i guess!

klaatu was a really good band, maybe the spiritual tramp is aware of them since they're canadien.

Miss Spiritual Tramp 1979 said...

Matt-never heard of Klaatu in my life and I am Canadian..not really of my generation but thats okay cause I hate my generation..this is like a Nardwuar moment..thanks I love finding out things I do not already know about music.

Here is one of my fav Manson family inspired songs-Sonic Youth-Death Valley '69:

hahahaaaaaaa..did I really have any choice?

mattprokes said...

nardwuar has a great youtube channel.
his jello biafra interviews are classic.

mattprokes said...

the last klaatu album must have been around the mid 80s.
i was surprised to find all their stuff on youtube.

Miss Spiritual Tramp 1979 said...

I love Nardwuar and yes his youtube channel is great..all kinds of obscure info that guy is holding and the reactions of those he is interviewing when he starts whipping out gifts and props is priceless.

I am so into Nardwuar that I will watch interviews with artists I can't stand like Lil Wayne and its fabulous...actually I learned that Lil Wayne was a Nirvana fan which was almost as traumatizing as when I found out that Fred Durst had a tatoo of Kurt Cobain on his chest...its just so wrong...Kurt would have hated those clowns.

The Jello interviews are fun, I like the older ones better. Jello is great but his talking voice bugs me..I like it better when he is screaming at the military industrial complex and assorted Republicans, although right about now he needs to go scream at Obama.

mattprokes said...

i like the interviews with folks who have no idea who he is,the look on their faces are priceless.
just watched his interview with roky erickson yesterday.
roky doesnt know what to make of him but he goes with the flow.
saw the pelicanmouse and the other lemonheads a few weeks back doing its a shame about ray.big fun...said there'd be a new album in the new year, going to be an acoustic album recorded in a hotel.
probably alot like some of his yt videos.

mattprokes said...

henry rollins did'nt seem amused by nardwuar!

Miss Spiritual Tramp 1979 said...

Yeah the Rollins one was awkward..Henry was not having any of it, that one was hard to watch. He should try Henry again now that he is more mellow or maybe not did you see the video of Henry taking on the Hipsters in NY? hilarious.

I love the NERD interview because at first Pharrell and friends are all stand offish and mocking Nardwuar then it just totally changes once they realize he is one step ahead of them and armed with knowledge..so good..and after that Pharrell became a big Nardwuar fan and helped him score the Jay-Z interview.

mattprokes said...

is that the one where hes in the record shop?
if so i have that whole show on dvd,its called into the night with henry rollins and shirin neshat.
shirin neshat is an iranian photographer and filmmaker, the idea is they match up two artists who have never met before and see what happens-very interesting show.i was thinking about posting the whole thing on yt one of these days.
heres a link to henry talking about the show
http://www.greatermiddleeastphoto.com/2010/11/henry-rollins-and-shirin-neshat.html

Miss Spiritual Tramp 1979 said...

yes..thats the one in the record shop. I think Henry may have overreacted though as it seemed to me that he was looking for confrontation.

How was the Lemonheads show? I heard the tour got off to a rough start, issues with the band, Evan losing his voice etc.

I finally figured out that on YT you can accept messages from only friends so sorry members of the HELTER SKELTER FORUM and another curious user named get this...'monkeylover148' game over..hahhaa

mattprokes said...

it was a good night out...voice sounded fine to me,i've never seen him play live before so i've got nothing to compare it to.
my only beef was there was songs that i wanted to hear that they did'nt play,a few from varshons and the album before that(i think it was just called 'the lemonheads')it was mostly stuff from the 90s.
they played almost the whole 'its a shame about ray' album.
i'd go see them again
